Roof ventilation is required to comply with applicable codes and/or manufacturer installation instructions, whichever is more stringent. Please refer to the attached sketch for wall and window in question. The wall in question is :Host likely bearing for the ceiling joists and possible the roof rafters are supported on this wall to limit deflection. X fe have reviewed this condition and calculations indicate that a 2 -2xlO flern -Fir #2 or better header is sufficient to Support the loads across this opening. We have provided a detail for installation of the header as a flush installation is desired. 11iis detail eliminates the need for posting down into the floor system below and no foundation work is necessary for this change. The window= that is to be resixed is presently in an exterior bearing wall, We have reviewed this condition and recommend installing a 2 -2x8 Hern - lair #2 or better header at this location with single 2x f king studs and single 2x4 trimmer studs on either side of the window.
