We had hoped to preserve the original look of the home by using a siding that replicates the original look of the home, In addition we wanted to match the unique grid pattern in the upper sash of the windows, Our Contractor, Ed Lincoln at Conservation Construction has informed us that there may be some concerns regarding the size of the windows in meeting "New Home" egress requirements for the bedrooms, We would prefer to keep them at their original size to preserve the look. We believe that an accurate restoration will increase our home value and the neighborhood. In Denver (3 blocks away) people are actually being encouraged to preserve Historical Accuracy to increase home and neighborhood value.
