The Cobra provides a solid mounting point while diverting the water away from the penetration. The flashing is made of dead soft aluminum. This gives the installer the ability to mold the flashing to match the roofing surface. The circular puck extends past the base of the flashing by 0.25" to compensate for compression from the lag bolt and prevents a puddling effect. Once the Cobra Mount has been lagged down, the flashing should sit level with the roofing material. 1. Start by chalking out a line to hit a rafter at span no greater than 48" O.C. 2. Cutting of the roof material is only required to ensure that the circular puck sits on a level surface and not to have the flashing hump sit under the upper single. 3. Using a flat pry bar make sure the shingles are separated from the roof so that the flashing can slide up under the next shingle. 4. Apply Sikaflex to the Cobra mount in a fashion that will divert water as shown in Fig1. Also apply Sikaflex in and around the hole on the bottom of the aluminum puck also shown in Fig1. Figure 1 5. Leading Row Installation: Using the a 5/16" x 4" lag bolt and fender washer, mount the REV:110508 "L" on top of the Cobra and torque them to 25-35 ft/lbs. The Us should be straight to the chalk line. D 7. Secondary Row Installation: Install the Cobra Mounts up roof of the modules. Drive the a 5/16" x 4" lag bolt leaving about 1/8" of the lags shank exposed to allow for adjustability. After the modules are set into place, return to all loose lags and torque them to 25-35 ft/lbs.
