be fastened to the roof deck with a minimum of 6 nails per shingle. Ice and water shield is
required. Eave and rake metal is required. A ladder extending 3 feet above the roof eave
and secured in place is required to be provided for all roof inspections. Roof ventilation
is required to comply with applicable codes and/or manufacturer&erms installation
instructions, whichever is more stringent. In order to pass a final inspection of
elastomeric or similar type roof coverings, a letter of inspection and approval from the
manufacturer's technical representative stating that "the application of the roof at
(project address) has been applied in accordance with the installation instruction for
(roof material brand name) roof covering" is required to be on site at the time of final
inspection.

2. This permit shall expire 365 days after the date of issuance regardless of activity. Requests for extension must be made in writing and
received prior to the date of expiration. An extension of no more than 180 days made be granted at the discretion of the Chief Building
Official and may be subject to a fee equal to one-half of the original permit fee.
3. If this permit expires, a new permit maybe required to be obtained. Issuance of a new permit shall be subject to the standard
requirements, fees and procedures for approval of any new permit. Re -issuance or extension of expired permits is at the sole discretion of

Residential Roofing Permit Application
This application is exclusively for new permits for residential roofs and for licensed
contractors only. This type of permit is ONLY being processed online --do not come
to City Hall to submit an application in person. Permits are processed and issued in
the order they are received. YOU WILL BE CONTACTED WHEN YOUR PERMIT
IS READY FOR PICK-UP AND WILL BE GIVEN A SPECIFIC DATE AND TIME
WINDOW TO COMPLETE THE TRANSACTION. You will be notified if your
contractor's license or insurance has expired, and you may update those
documents at the time you are issued your permit. Permits are currently being
processed within 3-5 business days, subject to change based on volume.
For all other requests:
Homeowners wishing to obtain a roofing permit must apply for the permit in person
at City Hall. Revisions to existing permits (for example, to add redecking) must be
completed in person at City Hall. All other non -roofing permits must be completed in
person at City Hall. The Building Division will be open from 7:30-10:30 a.m.,
Monday through Friday to process these types of requests.

When Installing the french door frame next to a panel follow the same procedure
as Installing panel to panel. The connector bolts required for the French door frame
to a panel are 2 1/4 inch long. Be sure that the frame remains square by re-ciJeck:ing
diagonals.
Notes: The top of the french door will be Z 318 inch lower than the top of
the panel.
Select a corner post part 21. The top is the end with part of the raised upstand
removed. Dry fit the corner post against the panel locating the raised upstand of the
post into the groove of the panel Be sure that the center of the post li:nes up with
the mitre joint of the sill. Remove the post. Drill and countersink 5 holes in the
panell.Fren.ch door frame 1 inch below the pre.drilled bolt holes. Apply wood caulking
to the bottom of the post and to the sill. Set the post against the panel. The top of
the post should extend past the top of the panel by 1 7/16 inch.

Position the half size purIm bracket into the pre notched wall rafter. flush to top of
the rafter. Secure to the rafter using 11/4 inch No. 10 countersunk screws. Fit the
full size purlin brackete into the side rafters and secure using 1 1/4 inch No. 10
countersunk screws. DIagram. 61 & 62. Each intermediate side rafter has full size
purlin brackete and the 'N frame assembly has a halfpurlin bracket fitted to the
house side of the rafter.
Keep the purlin brackets flush to the top of the rafters. Ensure that the purlins will
nm parallel to the ridge.
Fit the remaining wall rafter add-<ln timbers as before nmning from the purlin down

Note: Trim: excess 'P' gasket protruding from the top of the panels. All panel tops
and the French Door Frame infill timber should be flush. The comer posts protrude
by 1 7/16 inch.
INSTALLING THE HEAD PLATE
Select the head plates, parts 6, 7, 8, 9 and 10. Parts 6 and 10 are left and rillht
handed and are deliberately oversized by 1 3/4 inch.
Measure from the house wall to the comer post and cut parts 6 and 10 to this
dimension. Cut the sectiOll which has the pre-drilled hole furthest from the end.
With coo.servatory styles D6 ,D7 or F6, F7, parts 6 and 10 are in two sections, it is
the shortest length which is trimmed. Dry fit parts 6, 7, 8. 9 and 10 first to ensure
the correct fit.. Trim as necessary.
Note: The head plates raised section locates into the groove on the top of the panels
and the dado/groove on the head plate always faces out..
Apply a bead of wood caulking on either side of the raised upstand on the head
plates. Use clamps to hold the head plate in position. Secure to the panels with the 2
1/4 inch long o:onn...-tor bolts. Diagram 18.

INSTALLING CLERESTORIES WITH PI OR P2 PANELS
Select and install clerestory panels in the same way as the regular paneis. Prior to
installation fit the 'P' gaskets (refer to page 16 diagram 7) and for sash cleresrtory
panels install the bubble seal and flipper gasket, refer to page 17 Diagram 8 & 9.
Connect the clerestory panels directly on top of the existing panels U8ing 2 inch
connector bolts page 21 Diagram 14, before installing the head plate.
Where clerestory panels are located above the french door frame, secure the infill
timber to the top of the door frame and secure the clerestory down into the infill
timber using 2 112 inch No 12 countersunk screws.
Where a clerestory and a panel meet a comer post, cut a comer post to 19 inches
and secure to bottom section of the panel (refer to page 22 Diagram I$).
Insert wood caulking between the splice joint and install the remaining full length of
corner post. Be BUrs the comer post where raised section has been removed is
located at the top of the clerestory.
When installing the external and internal cover beads, cut the horizontal beads to fit
IlBatly between the vertical cover beads and secure to panels (refer to page 58
Diagram 78)

This permit was issued in accordance with the provisions set forth in yopur application and is subject to the laws of the State of Colorado and to the Zoning
Regulations and Building Code of Wheat Ridge, Colorado or any other applicable ordinances of the City.
This permit shall expire if (A) the work authonzed is not commenced within Sixty (50) days from Issue date or (B) the building authorized is suspended or
abandoned, for a period of 120 days.
If this permit expires, a new permIt may be acquired for a fee of one-half the amount normally required. provided no changes have been or will be made in the
original plans and specifications and any suspension or abandonment has not exceeded one (1) year. If changes are made or if suspension or abandonment
exceeds one (1) year, full fees shall be paid for a new permit.
