During excavation, the large column base was discovered. Some attennpt to cut and undermine this.base was made. In order to restore the base integrity and ensure support in case of heavy snows, it will be necessary to,rework that base by forming along the West and North sides of the base and pouring in a slurry mix of at least 3000 psi concrete. The existing fill under the building appears to be sound, but exposing it can change the moisture content and possibly cause"consolidation. I would form and pour under the undercut area as soon as practicable to preclude movement of the base. " I understand, because of the base you are moving £he inground wa11 to the West. I would make that wall part of the form and leave it permanently in place. Therefore, next to the freshly poured concrete, I would reccnunend Wolmanized treated plywood to preclude decay, if this wall will be in. service anre than three years.
