The sight distance triangle is an area adjacent to the public right-of-way which promotes un-obstructed views to oncoming traffia ln this instance, the sight distance triangle is measured from the intersection of the existing drive aisle and the right-of-way. From this intersection, a distance of fifteen feet is measured inwazd (east) towards the subject property. From the same starting point, a distance of fifty-five feet is measured south along the right-of-way line. These two lines are connected, forming the sight distance triangle. The sight distance triangle exists on both the north and south edge of the entrance point. I have included an aerial depicting the site distance triangle for your reference. Anything located within this sight distance triangle may not exceed a height of thirty-six inches. The proposed sign "C" exceeds this height, and therefore cannot be located within the sight distance triangle. It may be possible to locate the sign further north. Please provide a measure of setback for sign "C" on the revised site plan. You should be aware that a sign which is eight feet tall must be located at least ten feet from the property line. The new wall signage (signs "A" and "B") and the sign copy change on the existing free standing sign (sign "D") are acceptable, and need not be modified.
