Also, please refer to the attached sketch for connection of new wall to existing wall. The structure was constructed in 1953. It is a frame structure with brick surface. The foundation is block at two crawl space areas and one basement area. The basement floor is concrete. The foundation block and the exterior brick appear to be in good condition throughout the structure. No anchor bolts or other means of connecting the block foundation to the structure above were observed. The joists are fre cut, so that the 2x4 plate for the wall studs is set into the floor joisis below the floor deck. Blocking exists between the floor joists above the masonry walis, prrniding continuous support for the walls. The structural integrity of the existing structure appears satisfactory for the proposed poErtop addition.
