In order to pass a final inspection on commercial elastomeric or similar type roofing, a
letter of inspection and approval from the manufacturer technical representative stating
that "the application of the roof at (project address) has been applied in accordance with
the installation instruction for (roof material brand name) roof covering" is required to
be on site at the time of final inspection.
Effective December 1, 2014, asphalt shingle installations require an approved midroof
inspection, conducted when 25-75 percent of the roof covering is installed, prior to final
approval. Installation of roof sheathing (new or overlay) is required on the entire roof
when spaced or board sheathing with ANY gap exceeding one half inch exists. Sheathing and
Mid -roof inspections may be called in at the same time, 100 percent of the sheathing must
be complete and 25-75 percent of the midroof may be complete. Asphalt shingles are required
to be fastened to the roof deck with a minimum of 6 nails per shingle. A ladder extending 3
feet above the roof eave and secured in place is required to be provided for all roof
inspections. Roof ventilation is required to comply with applicable codes and/or
manufacturer installation instructions, whichever is more stringent.

inspections and shall not proceed or conceal work without written approval of such work from the Building and Inspection Services

6. The issuance, or granting of a permit shall not be construed to be a permit for, or an approval of, any violation of any provision of any

The Foilowing requirements are made under the 2003 International Fire Code adopted
by the City Council of the City of Wheat Ridge, Colorado.
1. 1fie plans submitted to the Fire District were not to scale and did not show the
square footage of the buiiding. There may be requirements for a fire alarm
system. A building inspection shall be performed by the Fire District to show the
scope of fire code requirements that nced to be addressed.
2. Fire lanes shall be marked with red paint and or signage. (Contact me at the Fire

3. The address of the building shall be posted and visible from the street of
addressing.
4. Required fire extinguishers with a minimum rating of 2A-40BC shall be mounted
on each floor of the building.
5. The fire alarm system shall be tied into the door, and release on activation of the
alarm.
6. All azeas under the stairwells shall be clear of storage at all times.
7. All egress ways shall remain cleaz at all times.
8. Note: the entry to this building off of Wadsworth shall remain cleaz, during all
phases of construction. (This is in reference to all contractor vehicles.)
9. The system shall be tested prior to calling the Fire District for approval and
required inspection of the system.
10. The contractor is responsible to have the right equipment on scene to perform a
power shut down test, and a fire alarm test.
