E3 was retained to determine if select building materials in the east building and the building materials in the dumpster contain asbestos. No other materials were sampled. SURVEY METHODOLOGY Materials were grouped into homogeneous sampling areas based on the material type. Six (6) homogeneous areas were identified and sampled (see below). No other building materials were sampled. You also requested the 5 year and 100 year runoff. Reviewinq the Flood Insurance Rate Maps (FIRM) at Urban drainage, indicated that the above referenced site is not located in a flood plane. The existing site consisted of a large 1400 square foot building with asphalt paved parking throughout. The new addition aonsists of an 1800 square foot warehouse extending easterly from the existing building into the existing parking area. A large infiltration detention gallery was also added and consists of approximately 13 cubic yards of 1 1/2" rock that was excavated into the northeast corner (low area) of the property. Using Jefferson Counties Rainfall location map and the corresponding Time Intensity Frequency Curves for Zone 1, the pre- addition (historical) as well as the post construction 5 year and 100 year runoff was calculated to be approximately 1.3 Cubic Feet per Second (CFS) and 2.4 CFS respectively. Also, in my opinion, the warehouse addition did not cause additional surface runoff since the pre-existing condition was a paved parking lot. In fact, the infiltration qallery added some detention time and likely improved surface drainage runoff slightly.
