Roof Application by Colorado Urethane Applicators Residence, Lloyd Levy (owner); 3275 Upham St., Wheatridge; Colorado Dear sirs: Colorado Urethane Applicators applied a polyurethane foam roofing system to the residence listed above and has asked me to provide this letter to the Wheatridge building department regarding the application and the UL classification of the installed roofing system. The contractor removed all existing roofing to the I x 6 wood decking. He installed Densdeck to all flat areas converting the wood deck to a Noncombustible deck. He installed 1.5 inches of Bayseal 2.7 lb polyurethane foam and coated the foam with 3.5 gallons of acrylic elastomeric coating, (Evercoat EC, Everest Systems, Spring Texas). The installed system is rated Class A over a noncombustible deck by Underwriter's Laboratory per UL790, The system has been installed in accordance with the manufacturer's application guidelines. Roof inspections for ROOFS OVER 6/12 PITCH: 3rd party inspection will be required, the 3rd party inspection report will be collected at final roof inspection performed by City of Wheat Ridge. SUMMARY A. Provide labor, materials, equipment and supervision necessary to prepare an existing sprayed -in- place polyurethane roofing system for recoat as outlined in this specification to create a seamless waterproof roofing system. B. The manufacturer's application instruction for each product used is to be considered part of these specifications, and should be followed at all times. 1.02. QUALITY ASSURANCE A. Contractor Qualifications: The contractor shall be approved by BaySystems to apply their products. The applicator shall have a minimum of 3 years of current experience in the application of silicones over SPF roofs. The contractor should provide information concerning projects similar in nature to the one proposed including location and person to be contacted. 1.03. SUBMITTALS A. BaySystems published data sheet on the protective coating, caulk/sealant, and primer to be used. B. Contractor /applicator certification from BaySystems as evidence of contractor /applicator qualification and experience. 1.04. MATERIALS A. Coatings: The coating shall be BaySystems BayBlook Acrylic coating that is specifically designed for application over polyurethane foam. Baybfock SPF RECOAT 10 7 oft July2010 Section 00000 Bayblock SPF Roofing System Recoat— 10 YR 1.05. SURFACE PREPARATION A. Foam blisters shall be removed and re- foamed. B. All blisters, (foam and coating) shall be removed and repaired to insure adhesion of the new material C. The entire area to be coated will be clean, dry, and free of any contaminants, which would cause poor adhesion. D. All cracks, holes, and other imperfections shall be filled using a suitable caulk/sealant. E. All areas that appear wet must be allowed to dry or removed and re- foamed. F. All bare or new foam must receive an additional 2 coats of Bayblock Acrylic. 1.06. PROTECTIVE COATING APPLICATION A. The entire surface shall receive the Bayblock Acrylic coating system applied in 2 separate coats to obtain a minimum additional millage of 22 dry mils. B. The first coat shall be Bayblock Base applied at the rate of 1 gallon per square. C. After allowing this to dry the final coat shall be Bayblock II topcoat applied at the rate of 1 gallon per square. D. These minimum recommendations are only effective if no less than 10 mils of the original coating system are present. Less than 10 mils must receive more coating. P. O.
