Asphalt shingles are required to be fastened to the roof deck with a minimum of 6 nails per shingle. Ice and water shield is required. Eave and rake metal is required. Roof ventilation is required to comply with applicable codes and/or manufacturer installation instructions, whichever is more stringent.
