Midroof & Final Roof inspections for ROOFS 6/12 PITCH & OVER: 3rd party inspection will be
required for both the midroof and final inspections. The 3rd party inspection report AND
THE ORIGINAL PERMIT CARD needs to be dropped off to the Permit Desk at the City of Wheat
Ridge. The report MUST BE SIGNED by the Homeowner.
REGARDING ROOF VENTILATION: Roof ventilation shall comply with IBC Sec. 1203.2 or IRC Sec.
R806. The installation of ridge venting requires the installation or existence of soffit
venting. For calculation purposes, one hat or turtle vent equal to one-half of one square
foot of opening.
Effective December 1, 2014, asphalt shingle installations require an approved midroof
inspection, conducted when 25-75 percent of the roof covering is installed, prior to final
approval. Installation of roof sheathing (new or overlay) is required on the entire roof
when spaced or board sheathing with ANY gap exceeding one half inch exists. Sheathing and
mid -roofs may be called in at the same time, one hundred percent of the sheathing must be
complete and 25-75 percent of the mid -roof may be complete. Asphalt shingles are required
to be fastened to the roof deck with a minimum of 6 nails per shingle. Ice and water shield
is required. Eave and rake metal is required. A ladder extending 3 feet above the roof eave
and secured in place is required to be provided for all roof inspections. Roof ventilation
is required to comply with applicable codes and/or manufacturer installation instructions,
whichever is more stringent. In order to pass a final inspection of elastomeric or similar
type roof coverings, a letter of inspection and approval from the manufacturer technical
representative stating that "the application of the roof at (project address) has been
applied in accordance with the installation instruction for (roof material brand name) roof
covering" is required to be on site at the time of final inspection.

2. This permit shall expire 365 days after the date of issuance regardless of activity. Requests for extension must be made in writing and
received prior to the date of expiration. An extension of no more than 184 days made be granted at the discretion of the Chief Building
Official and may be subject to a fee equal to one-half of the originalpermit fee.
3. If this permit expires, a new permit may be required to be obtained. Issuance of a new permit shall be subject to the standard
requirements, fees androcedures for approval of any new permit. Re -issuance or extension of expired permits is at the sole discretion of
the Chief Building Official and is not guaranteed.

Residential Roofing Permit Application
This application is exclusively for new permits for residential roofs and for licensed
contractors only. This type of permit is ONLY being processed online --do not come
to City Hall to submit an application in person. Permits are processed and issued in
the order they are received and due to the volume of requests, time to process
varies and is subject to change. YOU WILL BE CONTACTED WHEN YOUR
PERMIT IS READY FOR PICK-UP AND WILL BE GIVEN A SPECIFIC DATE
AND TIME WINDOW TO COMPLETE THE TRANSACTION. You will be notified if

For all other requests:
Homeowners wishing to obtain a roofing permit must apply for the permit in person
at City Hall. Revisions to existing permits (for example, to add redecking) must be
completed in person at City Hall. All other non -roofing permits must be completed in
person at City Hall. The Building Division will be open from 7:30-10:30 a.m.,
Monday through Friday to process these types of requests.

DESCRIPTION OF SERVICES. Savage Construction, Inc. will provide to the Customer the roofing services described in the attached
Exhibit (collectively, the "Services"). Per insurance estimate # E 2 D 9 6 7 5 8 & supplement
# 2017-07-17-1635
The services will be performed at the Job Address indicated above.
SCOPE OF WORK. a. Savage Construction, Inc. shall provide all labor and materials, to do the above described services on the
Customer's property.
b. The Roofing work will be performed Monday through Saturday, statutory holidays excluded, unless the parties mutually agree
otherwise, provided that the Services will be performed only if weather conditions are favorable, in order to ensure an acceptable finished
product.
CHANGE ORDERS: The Customer may make changes to the scope of the work from time to time during the term of this Contract.
However, any such change or modification shall only be made by written "Change Order" signed by both parties. Such Change Orders shall
become part of this Contract. The Customer agrees to pay any increase in the cost of the Roofing work as a result of a Change Order. In the
event the cost of a Change Order is not known at the time a Change Order is executed, Savage Construction, Inc. shall estimate the cost
thereof and the Customer shall pay the actual cost whether or not it is in excess of the estimated cost.
ACCESS. The Customer will allow free access to work areas for workers and vehicles and will allow areas for the storage of materials and
debris. Driveways will be kept clear for the movement of vehicles during work hours. Savage Construction, Inc. will make reasonable
efforts to protect driveways, lawns, shrubs, and other vegetation.
PERMITS: Savage Construction, Inc. shall apply for and obtain such permits and regulatory approvals as may be required by the local
municipal/county government, the cost thereof shall be included as part of the Payment to Savage Construction, Inc. under this Contract.
INSURANCE: Savage Construction, Inc. shall maintain general liability, workers compensation and builder's risk insurance in accordance
with the minimum requirements of the state throughout the duration of the Services. Savage Construction, Inc. shall provide the Customer
with proof of insurance upon request.
PAYMENT. Payment shall be made to Savage Construction, Inc., Arvada, Colorado 80003, in the amount of S 12 , 8 3 5 . 6 9 upon
completion of the services described in this Contract.
In addition to any other right or remedy provided by law, if the Customer fails to pay for the Services when due, Savage Construction, Inc.
has the option to treat such failure to pay as a material breach of this Contract, and may cancel this Contract and/or seek legal remedies.
TERM. This Contract will terminate automatically upon co letion by Savage Construction, Inc. of the Services required by this Contract.
