Midroof & Final Roof inspections for ROOFS 6/12 PITCH & OVER: 3rd party inspection will be required for both the midroof and final inspections. REGARDING ROOF VENTILATION: Roof ventilation shall comply with IBC Sec. 1203.2 or IRC Sec. R806. The installation of ridge venting requires the installation or existence of soffit venting. For calculation purposes, one hat or turtle vent equal to one-half of one square foot of opening. Effective December 1, 2014, asphalt shingle installations require an approved midroof inspection, conducted when 25-75 percent of the roof covering is installed, prior to final approval. Installation of roof sheathing (new or overlay) is required on the entire roof when spaced or board sheathing with ANY gap exceeding one half inch exists. Sheathing and mid -roofs may be called in at the same time, one hundred percent of the sheathing must be complete and 25-75 percent of the mid -roof may be complete. Asphalt shingles are required to be fastened to the roof deck with a minimum of 6 nails per shingle. Ice and water shield is required. Eave and rake metal is required. LBP SAFE WORK PRACTICES: Lead hazard testing and risk assessment shows that the exterior paint and paint on the existing wood windows is classified as lead-based paint and poses a hazard to the occupants and workers. The interior presentiy passes the clearance level for lead dust. Therefore, the following work items: Exterior Siding and Window Replacement shall be carried out using SAFE WORK PRACTICES as per the HUDIEPAICDC Lead Paint Safety Field Guide by trained workers and/or supervised by certified supervisor. Safe work practices shall inciude containment of work areas prior to and during placement of new siding and window repiacement to prevent contamination of the exterior or interior areas by the lead- based paint. Contractor shall take precautions with drop cioths and disposing of, and other precautions to avoid accumulation of lead-based paint dust in the soils around the house, or from having any lead dust be transported to the interior of the house. The clean up of the areas shall also follow the safe work guidelines (including HEPA vac and wash) and then the JCHA shall retest to make sure the interior still passes clearance levels. • • Exterior Construction 1. Coil Wrap Fascia and Soffit: Fascia and soffits for the main house in the same areas as described in above painting item aluminum coil stock will be used for the fascia and vinyl soffits will be applied to the soffits. Replacement Windows (10): Remove existing windows of the first floor of the house and prepare openings using Safe Work Practices. Provide and install new replacement windows, pre-finished, vinyl, min. 2 1/8" frame w/, double glazed, residential windows with screens (Custom Gard II, 6500 Series, by Design Window, Awning and Door, Inc., AMSCO replacement windows, "Modern" replacement wintlows, or a rehab specialist approved equal--submit specs to the rehab speciaiist). New windows shall have releases to lift out or swing in for easy cleaning. All windows are to be installed according to the manufacturer's recommendations; insulated and caulked around the openings, adjusted and lubricated.
