CARE & MAINTENANCE INFORMATION
The following items of maintenance information are not complete or exhaustive but are recommended for a single -ply roofing system.
1. Clogged drains should be avoided to insure equal load across your structure.
2. Ponding water that does not dry in 48 hours offer a rain could cause damage to the roofing system.
(The building owner is responsible for installing roof drains that meet this requirement. This includes new construction, reroofing, and
structural distortion or sag requiring drain addition, relocation, or addition of tapered insulation.)
3. Petroleum products, if allowed to stand on the membrane, will have an adverse effect and may degrade the surface of the membrane.
Keep all petroleum products off the membrane (solvents, greases, oils, or any other liquid containing petroleum).
4. Kitchen waste should not be exhausted onto the roof surface. They could reduce the life of your roof.
5. Foot traffic should be kept to a minimum. Any areas which require normal maintenance during a 30 -day period should have walkways to
and from, as well as in the work area.
6. Under no circumstances should roofing cements be used in conjunction with the membrane.
7. Areas such as counterfloshings, curbs, and pipes should be kept sealed at all times.
8. If a leak occurs, don't assume that it is the membrane. Leaks are often the result of curbs skylights, hatches, metal work, or plumbing
problems. Carefully survey the problem first.
9. If any new installation is required on your roof, contact your preferred roofing company for a recommendation as to how the unit is to be
tied in to your existing roof. New work should be completed by an Authorized Versico Contractor familiar with membrane systems.
General maintenance trades working on your rooftop units, doing plumbing, welding, soldering, and other work, must use care and protection
or they will could damage your roof. This type of damage is the owner's responsibility and not covered by the membrane warranty.

SECTION 4- FIRST AID MEASURES
Inhalation: If inhaled, immediately remove victim to fresh air. If not breathing, give artificial respiration. If breathing is
difficult, give oxygen. Obtain medical at[ention if adverse effect continues after removal to fresh air.
Sldn contach Immediately remove contaminated clothing and shoes. Wash skin thoroughly with mild soap and running
watec Obtain medical attention if irtitation persists. Launder clothing before reuse.
Eye contact: Immediately flush eyes with running water for a minimum of 15 minutes. Obtain medical attention
immediately if adverse effect continues afier flushing.
Ingestion: DO NOT induce vomiting. Never give anything by mouth to an unconscious person. Obtain medical attention
immediately. Guard against aspiration into the lungs.
Condifions aggravated by exposure: May aggrava[e pre-existing skin, eye and respiratory problems.
Recommendations to physicians: Treat symptoms and eliminate overexposure.
SECTION 5- FIRE FIGHTING MEASURES
Fire hazards/condifions of flammability: Flammable ]iquid. This material will ignite or explode when exposed to heat,
spazks, flames, or other sources of ignition (e.g. static electricity, pilot lights, or mechanical/electrical equipment). Vapors
are heavier than air and will collect in low-lying azeas and confined spaces. Vapors can trave] to a source of ignition and
flash back causing an explosion and fire. Closed containers may napture if exposed to excess heat or flame due to a build-
up of intemal pressure. Liquid will float and can be re-ignited at water's surface. Contact with some metals may cause
release of flammable hydrogen gas.
Flammability classifica6on (OSI3A 29 CFR 1910.1200): Class IC Flammable Liquid.
Flash point: 24°C 1752°F
Auto-ignition temperature: Not determined for product For main component, Ethanol: 363°C / 685°F
Oxidizing properties: None known
Lower flammable limit by vol.): Not determined. Upper flammable limit by vol.): Not determined.
Explosion data:
Sensitiviry to mechanical impact. May be sensitive to static discharge.
Sensirivity ta static discharge: Not sensitive.
Suitable extinguishing media: Foam, dry chemical or carbon dioxide. Using water may be ineffective.
Special fire-fighting procedures/equipment: Firefighters should wear proper chemically protective equipment and
respiratory protection as conditions warrant. Move containers from fire area if it can be done without risk. Water spray
may be useful in minimizing or dispersing vapors, and cooling equipment and containers exposed to heat and flame. Avoid
spreading burning liquid with water spray used for cooling purposes.
Hazardous wmbusfion products: Carbon oxides and other irritating fumes and smoke.
SECTION 6- ACCIDENTAL RELEASE MEASURES
Personal precautions: Spillages may be very slippery. Restrict access to area until completion of ciean-up. Ensure clean-up
is conducted by trained personnel only. All persons dealing with clean-up should wear the appropriate chemically
protective equipment Keep all other personnel upwind and away from the spill/release. Refer to Section 8, EXPOST.JRE
CONTROLS AND PERSONAL PROTECTION, for additional information on acceptable personal protective equipment.
Environmental precautions: Ensure spilled product and wash solution does not enter sewers or confined spaces.
Spill response/Cleanup: Eliminate all sources of igriition. Ventilate area of release. Stop leak if you can do so without risk.
Use non-sparking tools. Contain and absorb spilled liquid with non-combustible, inert absorbent material (e.g. sand, earth),
then place absorbent material into a suitable container for later disposal (see Section 13). Wash site of spillage thoroughly
with water and suitable detergent. Contaminated absorbent material may pose the same hazards as the spilled product.
Notify the appropriate authorities as required.
Prohibited materisls: None known.
Special spill response procedures: If a spill/release in excess of EPA reportabie quantity is made into the emironment,
immediately notify the national response center in the United States (phone: 1-800-424-8002).
DOT/CERCLA Reportable quantity (RQ): Potassium hydroxide (RQ 1000 lbs.)

SECTION 7- HANDLING AND STORAGE
Safe handling procedures: This material is a flammable, corrosive liquid. Wear chemically protective equipment dudng
handling. Use in a well-ventilated area. Avoid inhalation of vapors. Avoid contact with skin, eyes, and clothing. Wash
thoroughly after handling. Keep away from heat, flame, sparks, or ignition sources. Ground all equipment during
handling. Keep away from acids and other incompatible materials. Use caution when opening cap. Keep container
tightly closed when not in use. Assume empty containers contain residues, which are hazardous.
General hygiene considerations: Avoid inhalation of vapors and mists. Avoid contact with eyes, skin and clothing. Do not
eat, drink or smoke when working. Upon completion of work, wash hands before eating, drinking smoking or use of
toilet facilities. Remove soiled clothing and wash it thoroughly before reuse. Contaminated leather and shoes may
require disposal.
Storage requirements: Store in a cool, dry, well-ventilated area away from sources of heat, ignition and sunlight. Store
containers away from incompatible chemicals (see Section 10, Stability and Reactivity). Containers should be separated
from oxidizing materials by a minimum distance of 20 ft. or by a barrier of non-combustible material at least 5 ft. high
having a fire-resistance rating of at least 0.5 hours. Refer to NFPA 30, F[ammable and Combustible Liquids Code, for
additional information on storage. Storage azea should be clearly identified, clear of obstmction and accessible only to
trained and authorized personnel. Inspect periodically for damage or leaks. No smoking in [he area.
Special packaging materials: Always keep in containers made of the same materials as the supply container.
SECTION 8- EXPOSiJRE CONTROLS AND PERSONAL PROTECTION
Ventilation and engineering wntrols: Local mechanical exhaust / extraction ventilation is recommended if used indoors on
a continuous basis. Use explosion-proof, flame resistant construc[ion materials. Do not use aluminium, tin, zinq
galvanized iron or wood products.
