SUBJECT: Shade Arbor Located At 9400 West 44' Avenue
DATE: May 24, 2000
On May 16", 2000 I received a notice from Code Enforcement regarding a shade arbar at 9400
W. 44"' Avenue. Code Enforcement had received the anonvmous complaint from a citizen.
After I spoke with the manager of the market, I spoke with Mary Austin and Travis Crane from
our Planning Department. The general question is if the arbor is ar is not a structure? Travis
viewed the site on May 17`", 2000.
As of this date I still do not have a definitive answer as to the classification of the shade arbor.
The Uniform Building Code is not clear either. Therefore, I am requesting a definition for this
arbor as to classification.
STAFF MEETING 5/25/00 RESULTS:
SHADE ARBOR IS NOT REQUIRED TO HAVE A BUILDING PERMIT.
