Effective December 1, 2014, asphalt shingle installations require an approved midroof
inspection, conducted when 25-75 percent of the roof covering is installed, prior to final
approval. Installation of roof sheathing (new or overlay) is required on the entire roof
when spaced or board sheathing with ANY gap exceeding one half inch exists. Sheathing and
mid -roofs may be called in at the same time, one hundred percent of the sheathing must be
complete and 25-75 percent of the mid -roof may be complete. Asphalt shingles are required
to be fastened to the roof deck with a minimum of 6 nails per shingle. Ice and water shield
is required. Eave and rake metal is required. A ladder extending 3 feet above
and secured in place is required to be provided for all roof inspections. Roof ventilation the roof eave
is required to comply with applicable codes and/or manufacturer installation instructions,
whichever is more stringent. In order to pass a final inspection of elastomeric or similar
type roof coverings, a letter of inspection and approval from the manufacturer technical
representative stating that "the application of the roof at (project address) has been
applied in accordance with the installation instruction for (roof material brand name)
roof covering" is required to be on site at the time of final inspection.
Roof inspections for ROOFS OVER 6/12 PITCH: 3rd party inspection will be required, the 3rd
party inspection report will be collected at final roof inspection performed by City of
Wheat Ridge. If report is not available the final inspection will not be completed.

On Mazch 13, SB-1 PETTY called the police to complain she was being hazassed by one ofher neighbors, using the
police as the harassment tool. She said this has become an ongoing problem over the parking of her pickup truck in
front of her residence. She said the police have tagged her vehicle as abandoned and have knocked on her door to tell
her that someone complained about where the vehicle was parked. She told me the vehicle was properly registered,
insured and driven on a regular basis. She believes it is legally parked in front of her house.
11300 W. 38' Ave is a single family residence on the south side of W. 38' Ave. This is a two lane street divided by a
center stripe. On the south side is a bike lane that runs from about Siuuns St. to Miller St. The bike lane edge stripe is
wom away. PETTY pazks her pickup truck several feet offthe pavement, with the left side wheels still in the bike lane
area.
Mazch 14, 2001 1000 hrs
I reseazched the pazking laws and found that it is legal to pazk in a bike lane unless specifically prohibited. I responded
to the location, and observed the position of the parking. The pickup is pazked on the south side directly in front ofthe
residence at 11300 W. 38' Ave. The right side wheels are several feet off the paved portion of the roadway. There is
approximately four feet of space between the left side of the parked vehicle and the traveled portion of east bound W.
38'Ave. Adequate space to walk or ride a bike. I had Off. Ells and Off. Howrey respond and they both concurred
that this was legal pazking, even if the entire bike lane was blocked.
I advised PETTY that her vehicle was legally parked and I would make an effort to prevent further police contact
regazding this vehicle. She said she did not know what the complaining persons name was, but that he was an older
man who has now taken to trespassing across her lawn. She has placed a strand of wire between two trees in her yazd to
prevent fiu-ther trespassing.
I advised the police supervisors to refer any further pazking complaints at this location to me.
March 15, 2001 0745hrs
I obtained SB-2 GIBBS information from building/code inspector DARREN MORGAN, who had received a complaint
from GIBBS about this vehicle. I called GIBBS and told him that the vehicle was legally pazked. He did not like that.
He disagreed that there was room to wallc azound the velucle on the street side. I asked him if he has been crossing
over her lawn and he said yes. I told him not to go into her yard, that he could be subject.to trespassing charges. I
recommended to him that he could walk to the bus stop west of this one, which was probably not more that 50 ea-tra feet
away. He became agitated, and told me "why do I have to change my route because some "horses ass" wants to park on
the street instead of her driveway". I again told him that the vehicle was legally parked and they had a right to pazk in
front of their house.
