Effective December 1, 2014, asphalt shingle installations require an approved midroof
inspection, conducted when 25-75 percent of the roof covering is installed, prior to final
approval. Installation of roof sheathing (new or overlay) requires an approved inspection
prior to installation of ANY roof coverings and is require on the entire roof when spaced
or board sheathing with ANY gap exceeding one half inch exists. Asphalt shingles are
required to be fastened to the roof deck with a minimum of 6 nails per shingle. Ice and
water shield is required. Eave and rake metal is required. A ladder extending 3 feet above
the roof eave and secured in place is required to be provided for all roof inspections.
Roof ventilation is required to comply with applicable codes and/or manufacturer
installation instructions, whichever is more stringent. In order to pass a final inspection
of elastomeric or similar type roof coverings, a letter of inspection and approval from the
manufacturer technical representative stating that "the application of the roof at (project
address) has been applied in accordance with the installation instruction for (roof
material brand name) roof covering" is required to be on site at the time of final
inspection.
Roof inspections for ROOFS OVER 6/12 PITCH: 3rd party inspection will be required, the 3rd
party inspection report will be collected at final roof inspection performed by City of
Wheat Ridge. If report is not available the final inspection will not be completed.

On June 20, 2017 EVstudio was requested to perform an inspection in lieu of a
missed mid -roof inspection at the above mentioned address.
Our representative walked each square of the roof to verify the integrity of the
roof decking. Valleys and ridges were visually inspected as well as flashing
around protrusions. Drip edge was installed along all eaves and rakes. One
layer of asphalt shingles with six nails per shingle over ice barrier/underlayment
was confirmed. No exposed nails were discovered in the field. Exposed nails at
the ridge and hips were sealed.
It is our professional opinion that all roof decking and roofing material was
sufficiently installed to meet the City of Wheat Ridge's roofing requirements.

Residential Roofing Permit Application
This application is exclusively for new permits for residential roofs and for licensed
contractors only. This type of permit is ONLY being processed online --do not come
to City Hall to submit an application in person. Permits are processed and issued in
the order they are received and due to the volume of requests, time to process
varies and is subject to change. YOU WILL BE CONTACTED WHEN YOUR
PERMIT IS READY FOR PICK-UP AND WILL BE GIVEN A SPECIFIC DATE
AND TIME WINDOW TO COMPLETE THE TRANSACTION. You will be notified if
your contractor's license or insurance has expired, and you may update those
documents at the time you are issued your permit.
For all other requests:
Homeowners wishing to obtain a roofing permit must apply for the permit in person
at City Hall. Revisions to existing permits (for example, to add redecking) must be
completed in person at City Hall. All other non -roofing permits must be completed in
person at City Hall. The Building Division will be open from 7:30-10:30 a.m.,
Monday through Friday to process these types of requests.

1.0 INTRODUCTION
This document has been prepared for Enclosure Suppliers Inc., 10036
Springfield Pike, Cincinnati, OH 45215, by Ambric Testing & Engineering
•Associates, Inc., 3502 Scotts Lane, Philadelphia, PA 19129.
The purpose of this evaluation was to determine the load carrying capacities of
the various Aluminum members and connections which are used in the
construction of the e4aat#io.a ENCLOSURE and the presentation of this
infortnation in user friendly member load tables. This information is the property
of Enctosure Suppliers Inc. and should be used soiely in conjunction with their
manufactured products and in the construction of the e"m#za*

5.0 Design Loads
Structural loads that act on the enclosure are caused by;
1. Dead Loads (D.L.): The weight of the panels and extrusions.
2. Live Loads (L.L.): These can subdivided into two distinct
groups, -
(i) Snow load
(ii) Wind load
Design loads are determined based on the foilowing assumptions:
. The length to breath ratio of the enciosure does not exceed 2.0
. The mean roof height of the structure above grade does not exceed 15
feet. -
T.he height to breath ratio of the enclosure does not exceed 2.5
• LateraJ-stability is provided by connection to the existing structure.
. The minimum roof live load (L.L.) shall not be less than 20 PSF
(pounds per square foot)
(i) 5now loads: are determined based on the published ground snow load for
the geographic location of the structure, its exposure and geometry of the
adjoining structure.
1. Geographic location: Refer to figures 5,6 or 7 for ground snow load at the
project location.
2. For enclosures in areas other than highly sheltered or wooded aceas or in
open terrain,

(11) Wind loads: are determined based on the basic wind speed for the
geographic location of the structure and its exposure.
1. Chase the follawing expasure condition which best describes the projecf site.
Exposure A: Large city centers with at least 50% of the buildings having a
height in excess of 70 feet. This condition must prevaii in the upwind direction
for a distance of one-half mile or ten times the height of the structure whichever
is greatec
Exposure B: Urban or suburban areas, wooded areas or other terrain . with
numerous closely spaced obstructions having the size of single family dwellings
or larger. This condition must exist in the upwind direction for a distance of at
least 1,500 fieet or ten times the height of the structure whichever is greater.
ExposUre.C:. Open terrain with scattered obstructions having heights generally
less than 30 feet. This condition includes flat, open country or grasslands.
Exposure D: Flat unnbstructed areas exposed to wind flowing over large bodies
of water:which are greater than 1 mile in width in the upwind direction. Exposure
D extends inland from the shoreline a distance of 1,500 feet or ten times the
height of the structure whichever is greater.

3. Refer to tables 6.1, 6.2 or 6.3 for appropriate Wind Load (W.L)
11111 Seismic Loads: are determined based on 'the geographic location of the
structure and its dead load. Because the dead load of the eke..w#io.c
ENCLOSURE is considered light load combinations that include seismic loading
will not produce the most onerous load condition for the structure and are
therefore not used to determine the design load for the structure.
