Subject: Annual Fire Prevention and Safety Inspection

Dear Sir:
The follow comments aze made in response to the above noted fire prevention and safety
inspection. These comments and resulting requirements are governed by the Uniform
Fire Code, 1991 Edition, and other codes or standards referenced within the Fire Code, as
adopted by the City Council of Wheat Ridge.
Unit 101-Down River Equipment Company
. Eatension cords shall not be used as a substitute for permanent wiring. Remove all
lightweight extension chords from fluorescent lighting. Wiring for lights must be
hard wired into the buildings electrical system.
. All multi-plug adaptors must be circuit breaker protected.
Unit 102-Greg Unseth Painting
• Install a breaker blank in the electrical panel.
Unit 103-Down River Equipment Company
. Install a breaker blank in the electrical panel.
Unit 104-Peterson Home Improvements
• Secure the carbon dioxide cylinder to a wall with a chain or rope, to prevent the
cylinder from accidently being knocked over.
• Replace the current BC fire extinguisher with a lOlb ABC dry chemical fire
extinguisher, mount 3' to 5' feet off of the floor.
• Install a cover plate on the light switch going into the wazehouse.
Unit 105-Riggs and Associates
. Fire eactinguisher is overdue for an annual fire inspection, contact a certified fire
e3ctinguisher company.
Unit 106-Alpha Tool Corporation
• All multi-plug adapters must be circuit protected.

lights must be in conduit. Contact an electrical contractor to do the work.

Extension chords shall not be used instead of permanent wiring. Replace eactension
chord in back office with a circuit breaker strip.
The fire eartinguishers aze overdue for an annual inspection, contact a certified fire
extinguisher company.
Repair the hole in the drywall in the ceiling in the back storeroom in unit 116.

• Extension chords shall not be used as a substitute for permanent wiring. Remove the
e3ctension chord for the fluorescent lights and hard wire into the buildings electrical
system. Contact an electrical contractor to do the work.

Unit 120-Rocky Mountain Tanning
• Must have one 101b ABC dry chemical fire erctinguisher, mount 3' to 5' off of the
floor.
Unit 121-Dick Doriguzi Air Conditioning
• No violations
Unit 122-Leisure vending and Creative Fitness
• Fire extinguisher is overdue for an annual inspection, contact a certified fire
etctinguisher company.
Unit 123-Shelly's Custom Woodworking
. Fire extinguisher is overdue for an annual inspection, contact a certified fire
ea-tinguisher company.
Unit 124 to 127-Innovative Machine
• Fire extinguishers are overdue for an annual inspection, contact a certified fire
extinguisher company.
• Repair the tube that is leaking mineral spirits on the aggitator machine.
I have contacted the Wheat Ridge Building Department to look at the electrical issues
with some of the units.
