As diswssed in your office yesterday, we would like to enclose the brcezeway, , that has eacisted with a roof covering it for approximately Uilrty (30) years. We are assuming that the concrete under the area is a slab only and as a result, the new walls would be built with a"floating wall" design. Allowiug for any vertical movement to be absorbed via the free moving pins. AddiGOnally, we would be installing two (2) new steel -32 inch entry doors and one 36 inch dual glazed sliding vinyl window, in this new azea. The current roof of [he breezeway will not be altered, as it is now attached to the house and gazage by means that appear to be to code. The electncal circuit that now feeds the garage overhead light and garage door opener only, is a single circuit of 30 amps and we would propose to add tlvee (3) oullets , one overhead light and two outside lights, to that circuit. An exis[ing steel casement single pane window , 36 inches wide, that currenUy opens into the breezeway from the East kitchen wall , is proposed to be removed and allowed to be an open doonvay W this new enclosed azea. We do not anticipate ant sWCtural change in that opening. As a result of that Mndow being opened into an access azea to the breezeway, we propose, closing in the current eait door, wlrich is on the back of the house, in the kitchen, less than four (4) feet from the proposed opening. That door is now on the northeast corner of the house. The opening would be enclosed with 2 x 4 studs, batt insulation, drywall interior, half inch fiberboazd sheeang and wood lap siding to match the current siding ex[erior. A single six (6) inch heating duct from the existing furnace would supply heat to the newly enclosed breezeway. The exterior of the 2 x 4 walls of the area would be sheeted with half inch flakeboard sheeting, then covered with 3/4 inch Styrofoam and vinyl lap siding installed The interior walls would have batt insulation installed prior to half inch drywall finish.
