Effective December 1, 2014, asphalt shingle installations require an approved midroof
inspection, conducted when 25-75 percent of the roof covering is installed, prior to final
approval. Installation of roof sheathing (new or overlay) is required on the entire roof
when spaced or board sheathing with ANY gap exceeding one half inch exists. Sheathing and
mid -roofs may be called in at the same time, one hundred percent of the sheathing must be
complete and 25-75 percent of the mid -roof may be complete. Asphalt shingles are required
to be fastened to the roof deck with a minimum of 6 nails per shingle. Ice and water shield
is required. Eave and rake metal is required. A ladder extending 3 feet above the roof eave
and secured in place is required to be provided for all roof inspections. Roof ventilation
is required to comply with applicable codes and/or manufacturer installation instructions,
whichever is more stringent. In order to pass a final inspection of elastomeric or similar
type roof coverings, a letter of inspection and approval from the manufacturer technical
representative stating that "the application of the roof at (project address) has been
applied in accordance with the installation instruction for (roof material brand name)
roof covering" is required to be on site at the time of final inspection.
Roof inspections for ROOFS OVER 6/12 PITCH: 3rd party inspection will be required, the 3rd
party inspection report will be collected at final roof inspection performed by City of
Wheat Ridge. If report is not available the final inspection will not be completed.

This application is exclusively for new permits for residential roofs and for licensed
contractors only. This type of permit is ONLY being processed online --do not come
to City Hall to submit an application in person. Permits are processed and issued in
the order they are received and due to the volume of requests, time to process
varies and is subject to change. YOU WILL BE CONTACTED WHEN YOUR
PERMIT IS READY FOR PICK-UP AND WILL BE GIVEN A SPECIFIC DATE
AND TIME WINDOW TO COMPLETE THE TRANSACTION. You will be notified if

For all other requests:
Homeowners wishing to obtain a roofing permit must apply for the permit in person

person at City Hall. The Building Division will be open from 7:30-10:30 a.m.,
Monday through Friday to process these types of requests.

Dear Mr. Wehrdt:
On September 26, 2003, I visited the site referenced above to observe the retaining wall
being constructed along the south property line. The footing had already been installed and the
wall reinforcing and forms were in place. There had beeu no design for this wall, nor had there
been any observations of the footing prior to placing the concrete.
During a visit to my oftice you informed me the City of Wheat Ridge Building
Department was requiring a letter and a design for this wall. The letter was to indicate the
footing and wall reinforcing had been properly installed. Since there was no observation of the
footing it would not be possible to verify its competence. You suggested placing a new footing
on top of the existing footing and attaching the footings together with the vertical reinforcing
which is already in the existing footing.
It will be acceptable to leave the existing footing in place and install the new footing and
retaining wall on top of this footing. Included as part of this report you will find a drawing
indicating how to install the retaining wall and footing.
To ensure compliance with the City of Wheat Ridge Building Department, they should be
notified to perform an observation of any segment of this wall prior to placing any concrete.

TITLE: AN ORDINANCE VACATING AN UNUSED PORTION OF PUBLIC
RIGHT-OF-WAY LOCATED ON LAMAR STREET EAST OF 6400
WEST 44T" PLACE, (CASE NO. WV-99-02) WITHIN THE CITY OF
WHEAT RIDGE, COUNTY OF JEFFERSON, STATE OF COLORADO
WHEREAS, right-of-way was previously dedicated for Lamar Street east of 6400 West 44'
Place (hereinafter, the "subject right-of-way"); and
WFIEREAS, the subject right-of-way lies within the City of Wheat Ridge, County of Jefferson,
State of Colorado; and . '
WHEREAS, the subject right-of-way is not needed for any public purpose; and
WHEREAS, no land adjoining the subject right-of-way will be left without access to the pubiic
street system as a consequence of its vacation:
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF WHEAT RIDGE, -
COLORADO THAT:
Section 1. Vacation. The following portion of Lamar Street, a dedicated street within the City
of Wheat Ridge, County of Jefferson, State of Colorado, is hereby vacated:
The East 25 feet of the North 120.2 feet of the South 280.2 feet of Block 8, Lake View
Subdivision Jefferson Counry, Colorado.
Total azea being approximately 3,500 square feet.
Section 2. Conditions.
1. The City will retain the utility easement per the recommendation of the Public Works
Department.
2. That the property being vacated be striped for three or four parking spaces.
Section 3. Vesting. Upon the vacation accomplished hereby, title to the property vacated shall
revert to abutting property owner of record in the manner set forth in Section 43-2-302, C.R.S.
Section 4. Safety Clause. The City Council hereby finds, determines, and declazes that this
ordinance is promulgated under the general police power of the City of Wheat Ridge, that it is
promuigated for the health,, safety, and welfaze of the pubiic and that this ordinance is necessary for the
preservation of health and safety and for the protection of public convenience and welfaze. The City
Council further determines that the ordinance beazs a rational relation to the proper legislative object
sought to be attained.
Section 5. Severability. If any clause, sentence, pazagraph, or part of this Ordinance Code or
the application thereof to any person or circumstances shall for any reason be adjusted by a court of
competent jurisdiction invalid, such judgment shall not affect application to other persons or
circumstances.
Section 6. Effective Date. This ordinance shall take eFfect 15 days after final publication as
provided by the Charter.
INTRODUCED, READ, AND ADOPTED on first reading by a vote of 6 to Z on
this 24 th day of May , 1999, ordered published in full in a newspaper of general
circulation in the City of Wheat Ridge and Public Hearing and consideration on final passage set for

Section databases have been updated as of 2-Apr-1999
Allowable stress databases have been updated to 1997 NDS & 1997 UBS values on 2-Apr-1999
To determine Cf values for sawn sedions, the progrem looks for the identifying words in the "Stress" entry.
"Selecf', "No.1", ' Standard" and similar typical words are used to determine Cf category
"Unbraced length" is multiplied by the following values to calculate "Le"
When beam depth 7", Le = 2.06 " Lu
When 7" < beam depth 14.3" , Le = 1.62' Lu + 3d
When beam depth > 14.3", Le = 1.84 * Lu
