The followitag requirements are made under the 2003 Intemational Fire Code adopted
by the Fire Board of the Wheat Ttidge Fire Yrotu'tion District and the City Council of the
City of Wheat Ridge, Colorado.
DemoHtion:
1. Any nse of haash dumpsters shall be greater than 20 feet to any structure.
2. All exit paths shall remain clear of conshuction materials.
3. Fire Lanes shall remain clear at all times oF constucrion This includes but not
limited to the alley behind this structure.
4. An emergency phone shaU be on site dm'ing all construction. (Cell phone will
substitute for land line.)
5. Emergency contact numbers will be posted on the front door during constn►ction
6. Required keys will be givea to the Fire I)istrict for access to the tenant space. Said
keys will be placed in the Knox Box located at the site.
7. A Fire Extinguisher with a minirmm+ tating of 2A-40BC Shall be within 10 feet of
all "HOT WORK" operations.
8. The clectricat box and the gas meter servicing tlus tenant shall be clearly marked
with the umt number.
9. Any and a11 constnicrion shall be submitDed to the city and the Fire riistrict for
Permitun8•

Description
The EST 5956A LED Fire Alarm Indicator is intended for
connedion to most EST detectors, sensors, and transponders.
It offers remote indication that the circuit to which it is con-
neded is in an alarm state.
The 5956A is peAect for connection to those devices which
are located in hard-to-reach areas. Typical applications include
detectors, sensors, and transponders which are iocated in
HVAC duds, above ceiling plenums, or below computer room
floors.
The 5956A features a bw current red LED that draws only
2 mA. The LED is mounted to a 1-gang stainless steel
faceplate wdh a brushed finish and English markings
silkscreened in red. A self-adhesive French/English faceplate
Iabel is included for bilingual applications. Wiring connedions
are made to 8 inch (200 mm) color-coded wire teads.
The 5956A flush mounts to any standard North American
1-gang electrical box or suriace mounts to an EST 27193
series 1-gang surface box. These boxes are available in a
variety of fadory finished colors. Also, EST dud smoke
detedor/sensor housings feature 1-gang knockouts to allow
mounting this indicator directly onto the housing.

After reviewiny the plans for Youngfieid Piaza, I do not find
adequate information to properly review this plan. The information
you obtained for me on-site, permits me to allow construction at
this time. However, you must comply with the following require-
ments a8 set forth in NFPA 13 before a certificate of occupancy
will be issued:
Working plans shall be submitted for approval to the authority
having jurisdiction before any equipment is installed or
remodeled. Deviation from approved plans will require
permission of the authority having jurisdiction.
Working plans shall be drawn to an indicated scale on sheets
of uniform size, with a plan of each floor, made so that they
can be easily duplicated, and shall show the following data:
(1) Name of owner and occupant;
(2) Location, including street address;
(3) Point of compass;
(4) Ceiling construction;
(5) Full height cross section;
(6) Location of fire walls;
(7) Location of partitions;
(B) Occupancy of each area or room;
(9) Location and size of concealed spaces, closets,
attics, and bathrooms [see 4-4.3 to 4-4.16
inclusive (except 4-4.5 and 4-4.6), and 4-4.19];
(10) Any questionable small enclosures in which no
sprinklers are to be installed;
(11) Size of city main in street, pressure, and whether
dead-end or circulating and, if dead-end, direction
and distance to nearest circulating main, city main
test results, and elevation relative to the test
hydrant (see B-2-1);
(12) Other sources of water supply, with pressure or
elevation;
(13) Make, type, and nominal orifice size of sprinkler;
(14) Temperature rating and location of high-temperature
sprinklers;
(15) Total area protected by each system on each floor;
(16) Number of sprinklers on each riser per floor;
(17) Make, type, model, and size of alarm or dry-pipe
valve;
(18) Make, type, model, and size of preaction or deluge
valve;
(19) Kind and location of alarm bells;
(20) Total number of sprinklers on each dry-pipe system,
preaction system, combined dry-pipe/preaction
system, or deluge system;
(21) Approximate capacity in gallons of each dry-pipe
system;
(22) Pipe type and schedule of wall thickness;
(23) Nominal pipe size and cuttinq lengths of pipe (or
center to center dimensions);
NOTE: Where typical branch lines prevail, it will be
necessary to size only one line.
(24) Location and size of riser nipples;
(25) Type of fittings and joints and location of all
welds and bends;
(26) Type and locations of hangers, sleeves, braces, and
methods of securing sprinklers when applicable;
(27) All control valves, check valves, drain pipes, and
test connections;
(28) Size and location of hand hose, hose outlets, and
related equipment;
(29) Underground pipe size, length, location, weight,
material, point of connection to city main; the
type of valves, meters, and valve pits; and the
depth that top of the pipe is laid below grade;
(30) Provision for flushing (see 3-3.2);
(31) When the equipment is to be installed as an
addition to an existing system enough of the
existing system shall be indicated on the plans to
make all conditions clear;
(32) For hydraulically designed systems, the material to
be included on the hydraulic data nameplate;
(33) Name and address of contractor;
(34) Method of protection for nonmetallic piping;
(35) A graphical representation of the scale shall be
provided on all plans;
(36) Sprinkler contractor's certification number from
the State of Colorado, Division of Fire Safety;
You as the installer will be required to complete the contrac-
tor's material and test certificate and have these certificates
available at the pressure test which will be required prior to
final approval. Should you have any questions or problems with
these reguirements, please feel free to contact me at 424-7323.
In addition to the above specifications, a drawing reflecting
the above information will also be required. In the future please
submit to this office 5 sets of plans (1-F.D. records, 1-City, 1-To
Owner of Property, 1- Contractor Files, 1-Construction Site).

Re: 3970 Youngfield Street, Tenant finish fire alarm.
The following requirements are made under the 2003 International Fire
Code adopted by the Fire Board of the Wheat Ridge Fire Protection District
and the City Council of the City of Wheat Ridge, Colorado.
1. A rough in inspection shall be scheduled with the Fire Marshal with a
minimum 24 hour notice.
2. Any drop down or areas not covered by the submitted devices may be
addressed upon inspection.
3. Plans submitted to the fire district do not show device numbers which
will be required if not addressed.
4. A system test shall be performed prior to final with the Fire Marshal
being scheduled.
5. A graphic map shall be next to the F.A.C.P...
6. The fire alarm panel shall have the appropriate contact numbers and
codes for the fire alann system. (Monitoring company information.)
7. Approved plans shall remain onsite at all times of construction.
8. All detection devices shall be greater than 3 feet from air handling
devices.
Any changes to approved plans shall be forwarded to the Fire District for
approval.
