Deaz Mr. Gidlund:
This letter is in regard to your fence permit application for property located at 6900 West 49~h
Drive. It is my understanding that you applied for the permit in January of 2002, but it was never
issued. It has come to our attention that although the permit was never issued, the fence has
already been erected.
The subject property is located within the Cleaz Creek 100-yeaz floodplain. In order to legitimize
placement and construction of the fence, a Class I floodplain special exception must be issued,
along with the required building permit.
Please complete the attached flood plain development permit application and retum it to the city
Community Development Department with a processing fee o£$300. Keep in mind because of the
floodplain status of the property, there may be alterations required to the fence already in place to
protect the storage capacity of the floodplain. If the floodplain development permit is denied by the
Floodplain Administrator, the fence permit cannot be issued and the fence will have to be removed.
