On June 9, 2009, at the request of the City of Wheat Ridge Community Services Unit; I responded to the above
address to assess the condition of a manufactured housing unit that was occupied by Henry and Dorothy Barriner.
I found the unit to be in an unsafe and insanitary state, with the following conditions existing:
-Unit not attached to foundation
-Electrical service and wiring not in conformance with applicable
-No facilities for sanitation existing in the unit or on the site
Woodstove installed in an unsafe manner posing a fire hazard
Improper egress from the unit
Insanitary conditions in unit interior
Based on the above the conditions, and in accordance with City of Wheat Ridge Municipal Code and applicable
adopted building codes, the structure was declared a dangerous building and was posted as Unsafe to Occupy.
The unit was not designed for residential occupancy at the time of manufacture and cannot be reoccupied without
extensive alteration. Mr. and Mrs. Barriner were directed to vacate the unit, and I arranged for them to spend the
night at the American Motel in Wheat Ridge on June 9, 2009. I contacted Mrs. Barriner on June 10, 2009, and
was informed by her that she had made arrangements to reside at a different location. The unit at 4800 Carr
Street remains posted as unsafe at this time. Should you have any questions concerning the required alterations or
actions, please do not hesitate to contact me.
