HomeMy WebLinkAboutResolution 2010-0022 CITY OF WHEAT RIDGE, COLORADO RESOLUTION NO. 22 Series 2010 TITLE: A RESOLUTION ALLOCATING THE REMAINDER OF THE CITY'S 2007 JURISDICTIONAL ALLOCATION OF FEDERAL COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT BLOCK GRANT FUNDS TO THE WHEAT RIDGE HOUSING AUTHORITY FOR THE PURPOSE OF ACQUISITION OF A SINGLE FAMILY HOME TO BE REHABILITATED AND SOLD WHEREAS, the City currently receives annual allocations of Federal funding from the Department of Housing and Urban Development through the Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) Program administered by Jefferson County Community Development, and WHEREAS, the Department of Housing and Urban Development has established certain parameters within which local jurisdictions are allowed to expend such funds, which generally relate to three areas: 1) provision of low and moderate income housing, 2) elimination of slum and blight, and 3) emergency needs,and WHEREAS, the City is permitted to establish additional local priorities for the use of CDBG funds, so long as they remain within the general areas identified by HUD for this program, and WHEREAS, the City is permitted to determine how the City's jurisdictional allocations will be expended as long as the projects are eligible and meet the goals and objectives of the CDBG program, subject to final approval by the Jefferson County Board of Commissioners. WHEREAS, the Department of Housing and Urban Development is requiring that Jefferson County identify projects to expend the remaining 2007 allocation of CDBG funds no later than May 31, 2010. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Wheat Ridge City Council, that: Section 1. $74,738 of 2007 CDBG funds shall be allocated to the Wheat Ridge Housing Authority to acquire a single family home for acquisition, rehab and sale to a future owner-occupant. 1 Section 2.
