TI TLE : A RESOLUTION AMENDING THE FISCAL YEAR 2014 POLICE
INVESTIGATIONS FUND BUDGET TO REFLECT THE
APPROVA L OF A SUPPLEMENTAL BUDGET
APPROPRIATION IN THE AMOUNT OF $8 ,800 FOR THE USE
OF PURPOSES OF PURCHASING DOCUMENT
MANAGEMENT SOFTWARE .
WHEREAS , the Wheat Ridge Charter requires that amendments to the budget be
effected by the City Council adopting a resolution ; and
WHEREAS, the Police Department Investigation Fund receives money from both
state and federal civil forfeiture processes ; and
WHEREAS, forfeited money, by state and federal statute, can only be used for
specific law enforcement purposes; and
WHEREAS, historically, the Police Department has budgeted approximately $25 ,000
per year in the Police Investigation Fund , and the 2014 budgeted amount is only $6 ,500 ;
and in
WHEREAS, the Investigation Fund currently has $99 ,860 .50 in available funds ; and
WHEREAS , the Police Department has identified a project to purchase the remaining
PowerDMS Suite software to provide the Policy , Training , Test and Survey modules at the
cost of $8 ,800 ; and
WHEREAS, the Seizure Fund Committee has approved this Police Investigation
Fund expenditure,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Wheat
Ridge , Colorado, as follows :
