HomeMy WebLinkAbout10/07/1985MINUTES LIQUOR LICENSING AUTHORITY MEETING CITY OF WHEAT RIDGE October 7, 1985 The Liquor Licensing Authority Meeting was called to order at 6:40 p.m. by Chairman Frank Stites. Also present were: Licensing Authority members: Kent Davis, Tony Flasco, Larry Merkl, Moe Keller, and Randy West; City Attorney, John Hayes; Deputy City Clerk, Christa Jones. Dave Suter, the detective in charge of the case, called Coralyn Ford, 6779 Quay Street, as the first witness. He questioned her regarding a conversation he had with her on December 7, 1985 and asked her if she recognized the man next to him (Cadet Greg Godfrey). She replied, she did not. Robert Sonheim, 7910 Ralston Road, Arvada, attorney representing Applejack, also questioned Coralyn Ford. Cadet Greg Godfrey, 8431 Benton, Arvada, stated he had purchased the beer in question on December 7, 1985 without I.D., and gave the beer to Detective Suter. He pointed out Coralyn Ford as the clerk who sold him the beer. Detective Suter entered 2 exhibits into the record. Exhibit A - a sixpack of Miller Beer; Exhibit B - a copy of a printout from the CBI, lab results from contents of beer can that was opened. Chairman Stites asked if Detective Suter had anything else to present. Detective Suter replied that, other than closing arguments, he did not. Attorney Sonheim asked for dismissal of this case because no proof of age for Greg Godfrey was presented by Detective Suter. Motion by Mr. West to dismiss this charge based on the failure of the City to prove that Cadet Godfrey is under the age of 21; seconded by Mr. Davis; carried 5-0. A Christa Jones, D uty City Clerk
