HomeMy WebLinkAbout10/28/2004MINUTES FOR LIQUOR LICENSING AUTHORITY MEETING CITY OF WHEAT RIDGE, COLORADO 7500 West 29th Avenue, Municipal Building October 28, 2004 Chairman Miks called the Liquor Authority Meeting of October 28, 2004 to order at 9 00 a m Liquor Authority Members present: Robert Alldredge, Frank Sanzalone, Kent Davis, John Miks, Anthony Davia, Judith DiCroce Lloyd Donnelly and Brenda Locricchio were absent. Also present: Deputy City Clerk, Christa Jones APPROVAL OF MINUTES OF October 14, 2004 Motion by Mrs DiCroce for the approval of the Minutes of October 14, 2004, seconded by Mr Davia, carried 5 in favor with Mr Davis abstaining Item 1. Public Hearing on an application for a new Beer and Wine License from G.A. Concepts L.L.C , d b a. "Vincenza's Italian Bakery", 8000 West 44th Avenue, Wheat Ridge, Colorado Deputy City Clerk, Christa Jones, presented the staff report. Gregory Allen, owner, was sworn in by the Chair He stated that the fence behind his Restaurant had been repaired and was fully secured, but he didn't bring in a photo He would bring it to the City Clerk's Office this afternoon The Chair swore in Max Scott, owner of Oedipus, Inc., the company who conducted the liquor survey He reported on the survey procedure and results Motion by Mr Alldredge to approve the application for a new Beer and Wine License for G.A. Concepts, L.L.C , d b a "Vincenza's Italian Bakery", 8000 West 44th Avenue, Wheat Ridge, Colorado, for the following reasons (1) All applications and fees required by statute have been filed and paid LIQUOR AUTHORITY MINUTES October 28, 2004 Page -2- (2) Notice of hearing and posting of the premises have been accomplished according to statutory requirements (3) The applicant is entitled to occupancy of the premises by virtue of a signed lease, dated April 1, 2004 (4) The applicant has been cleared by the Police Department. (5) The evidence adduced at the Public Hearing on October 28, 2004 established that the desires of the residents of the neighborhood under consideration are for granting this license, as evidenced by petitions bearing 100 signatures in favor of issuance 4 signatures in opposition and that issuance of this license is consistent with the needs of the neighborhood under consideration WITH THE FOLLOWING CONDITIONS: (1) The applicant contact the Wheat Ridge Police Department to make arrangements for liquor training for himself and all employees (2) The applicant bring a new photo to the City Clerk's Office showing that the fence behind the property has been secured Seconded by Mrs DiCroce Mrs DiCroce asked for an amendment that liquor training occur prior to issuance of license, Mr Alldredge accepted this as part of his motion Motion carried 6-0 LIQUOR AUTHORITY MINUTES October 28, 2004 Page -3- Item 2. Motion by Mrs DiCroce to accept Findings for "Rumours" and authorize the Chair and the Deputy City Clerk to sign the order and mail a copy to Rumours, seconded by Mr Davia, carried 5-0 with Mr Davis abstaining Meeting adjourned at 9 30 a.m Christa Jones, De ty City Clerk APPROVED BY LIQUOR AUTHORITY ON DECEMBER 9, 2004 BY A VOTE OF g TO D John Wks, Liquor Authority Chair
