HomeMy WebLinkAbout09/22/2005MINUTES FOR LIQUOR AUTHORITY MEETING CITY OF WHEAT RIDGE, COLORADO 7500 West 29th Avenue, Municipal Building September 22, 2005 Chairman Alldredge called the Liquor Authority Meeting of September 22, 2005 to order at 9 00 a.m Liquor Authority Members present: Robert Alldredge, Frank Sanzalone, Kent Davis, Anthony Davia, Judith DiCroce, David Berry and Brenda Locricchio John Miks was absent. Also present: Deputy City Clerk, Christa Jones, City Attorney, Debra Kalish, Police Sergeant Paula Balafas APPROVAL OF MINUTES OF July 28, 2005 Motion by Mrs DiCroce for the approval of the Minutes of July 28, 2005, seconded by Mr Davis, carried 5 in favor with Mr Berry and Ms. Locricchio abstaining Item 1. Acceptance of Findings for Old Chicago, 3250 Youngfield Street, Wheat Ridge, Colorado Motion by Mr Davis to approve the attached findings for Rock Bottom Restaurants, Inc , d b a Old Chicago, 3250 Youngfield Street, Wheat Ridge, and authorize the Chair and Clerk to sign these findings and mail them to the licensee, seconded by Mr Sanzalone, carried 6 in favor with Mr Berry abstaining Item 2. Motion for supplementary penalty phase for Lakeside Liquors, 5820 W 44th Avenue, Wheat Ridge, Colorado City Attorney Kalish gave background on the State Investigation Scott Madsen, owner of Lakeside Liquors, was present and stated that the employee in question had been fired He is in the process of selling the business and after being robbed again last night, he was not sure that he wanted to stay on as manager for the new owner He has signed up for a Liquor Class with the Police Department this coming Sunday LIQUOR AUTHORITY MINUTES- September 22, 2005 Page -2- Motion by Ms Locricchio in the matter of Lakeside Liquors, 5820 West 44th Avenue, to order that Licensee's three (3) day suspension, previously held in abeyance, be served on September 23, 24, and 26, 2005, seconded by Mr Davia, carried 7-0 Item 3. Liquor Renewal Application for Long Shots, 4400 Ward Road, Wheat Ridge, Colorado James Frisk, owner of Long Shots, asked the Authority to rescind their motion of bringing renewals before the Authority and to handle them administratively Motion by Mr Davis to approve the renewal application for Long Shots Bar & Grill, 4400 Ward Road, Wheat Ridge, Colorado, and authorize the Chair and Deputy City Clerk to sign the application and forward it to the Colorado Department of Revenue, seconded by Mrs DiCroce, carried 7-0 Motion by Mr Davis to continue bringing the renewal application to the Liquor Authority for another year; seconded by Mr Davia, carried 6-1 with Mr Alldredge voting no Motion by Mr Alldredge that if there have been no liquor violations at Long Shots 60 days prior the their renewal date, the license can be processed administratively without having to come before the Liquor Authority; seconded by Mr Davia, carried 4-3 with Ms Locricchio, Mr Berry and Mr Davis voting no Meeting adjourned at 9.35 a m Christa Jones, Deputy City Clerk APPROVED BY THE LIQUOR AUTHORITY ON OCTOBER 13, 2005 BY A VOTE OF TO U m's" A w., X4.
