Adjournment CITY OF WHEAT RIDGE, COLORADO NOTICE OF EMERGENCY SPECIAL CITY COUNCIL MEETING PUBLIC NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN of an emergency special meeting of the Wheat Ridge City Council pursuant to Charter Section 5.2(b), at the following date, time, and place: 1:00 PM, March 13, 2020 City Council Chambers Municipal Building, 7500 W. 29th Avenue Wheat Ridge, Colorado This meeting has been requested by the Mayor pursuant to Section 5.2(b) of the Home Rule Charter. The matters to be considered at the meeting are of such gravity that irreparable harm would come to the City if there is any further delay in Council action. Specifically, the purpose of the emergency special meeting will be to consider cancellation of all or some of the following meetings: the March 16, 2020 Council study session, the March 23, 2020 regular Council meeting, and the March 20 and 21, 2020 Council strategy retreat, as well as to take any additional actions deemed necessary by the Council in light of the grave emergency posed to public health and safety by the Covid-19 virus and declared pandemic. Council action on these matters is imperative for the protection of the public health, safety and welfare Upon the advice of the City Attorney, Council Members may attend this meeting by telephone. The matters to be considered at the meeting are of such gravity that irreparable harm would come to the City if there is any further delay in Council action. To that end, the language below explains the terms under which such a meeting can be held. The Mayor will be making the request for such a meeting and before he does this, we wanted poll City Council as to what time would be preferred. We are proposing either 1:00 PM this afternoon (Friday) or 4:00 PM this afternoon (Friday). Please keep in mind that we will make available phone-in capability for the meeting, both for City Council members and for any members of the public who wish to attend. The meeting will be held in City Council Chambers. If you could please respond to me as soon as possible, that would be most helpful. Thank you. Section 5.2 An emergency special meeting may be called by the city clerk at any time on a written request from the mayor or five (5) members of the council. Such request shall state that the matter to be considered is an emergency of such gravity that irreparable harm would come to the city if there was any further delay in council action. The nature of the emergency shall be stated in detail in a written notice to each councilmember, a notice posted in the office of the city clerk, and in the minutes of the special meeting.
