ORDINANCE NO. 7
Series of 1969
TITLE. AN ORDINANCE SETTING THE SALARY OF THE MAYOR AND ALDERMEN
OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF WHEAT RIDGE, COLORADO.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF WHEAT RIDGE,
COLORADO, THAT:
Section 1. The salary for the Mayor of the City of
Wheat Ridge, Colorado shall be Fifteen Thousand ($15,000) Dollars
per year.
Section 2. The salary for the Mayor of the City of
Wheat Ridge shall be payable monthly.
Section 3. The salary for each Alderman of the City
Council of the City of Wheat Ridge, Colorado shall be Twenty-Five
($25.00) Dollars per meeting attended, not to exceed a total of
Two Thousand Five Hundred ($2,500) Dollars per year.
Section 4. The salary of the Aldermen shall be payable
monthly.
Section 5. Emergency Clause. The provisions of this
ordinance are to establish salaries for the Mayor and Aldermen of
the City of Wheat Ridge, pursuant to Chapter 139-4-2, Colorado
Revised Statutes, 1963, for the following reasons:
A. No ordinances setting the salaries of the Mayor and
Aldermen exist in the City because the City having completed
incorporation on August 20, 1969, has not heretofore adopted any
ordinance setting any salaries within the City.
B. Ordinances setting salaries of the Mayor and Aldermen
are necessary to allow these people to serve efficiently.
Section 6. Effective date. This ordinance shall•take effect
and be in force five (5) days after publication following final
passage providing it shall have been passed by an affirmative vote
of three-fourths (3/4) of the members of the City Council; otherwise
said ordinance shall take effect thirty (30) days after publication
following final passage.
