BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF WHEAT RIDGE, COLORADO: Section 1. Section 5-81. Fees - Valuation of Structure of the Code of Laws of the City of Wheat Ridge is hereby repealed and reenacted as follows: The following table shall govern the assignment of value for the purpose of establishing building permit fees: BUILDING AND EQUIPMENT VALUATION SCHEDULE (includes Plumbing, Heating and Electrical) Occupancy and Type Cost Per Sq. Section 5-82 of the Code of Laws of the Cith of Wheat Ridge, Colorado, is hereby repealed and reenacted as follows: Section 5-82.Same-schedule. Based upon the valuation established in Section 5-81 hereof, permit fees shall be as follows: TOTAL VALUATION FEE $1.00 to $500.00 $10.00 $501.00 to $2,000.00 $10.00 f or the first $500.00 plus $1.50 for each additional $100.00 or fraction thereof, to and including $2,000.00 $2,001.00 to $25,00.00 $32.50 f or the first $2,000.00 plus $6.00 for each additional $1,000.00 or fraction thereof, to and including $25,000.00 $25,001.00 to $50,000.00 $170.50 for the first $25,000.00 plus $4.50 for each additional $1,000.00 or fraction thereof, to and including $50,000.00 $50,001.00 to $100,000.00 $283.00 for the first $50,000.00 plus $3.00 for each additional $1,000.00 or fraction thereof, to and including $100,000.00 $100,001.00 and up $433.00 for the first $100,000.00 plus $2.50 fo r each additional $1,000.00 or fraction thereof. Section 3. Section 5-83 of the Code of Laws of the City of Wheat Ridge, Colorado, is hereby repealed and reenacted as follows: Section 5-83. Same-same-electrical; plumbing and ventilating. - 3 - ORDINANCE NO. 400 Electrical permit fees, as governed by the State Electrical Board, shall be as follows: A. FEES BASED ON SQUARE FOOTAGE ONLY RESIDENTIAL: CONSTRUCTION AND EXTENSIVE REMODLING (based on finished living area), but not to include extensions to or minor remodeling of existing installations, which will be based on the valuation of work. Not more than 1,000 sq. ft ..........................$18.00 Over 1,000 sq. ft. and not more than 1,500 sq. ft.. $26.00 Over 1,500 sq. ft. and not more than 2,000 sq. ft.. $32.00 Per 100 sq. ft. in excess of 2,000 sq. ft.......... $ .65 Reinspections .......................................$12.00 B. FEES BASED ON VALUATION OF WORK ALL OTHER FEES shall be computed on the dollar value of the electri- cal installation including fixtures and installation costs thereof, as follows: Not more than $300.00 ..............$12.00 More than $300.00 but not more than $2,000.00.......$18.00 More than $2,000.00 but not more than $50,000.00,...$ 7.00 per each $1,000.00 valuation or fraction thereof. More than $50,000.00 but not more than $500,000.00.,$50.00 plus $6.00 per each $1,000.00 valuation or fraction thereof. More than $500,000.00 ..............................$550.00 plus $5.00 per each $1,000.00 valuation or fraction thereof. Plumbing permit fees for residential and commercial installa- tion shall be the same as in Section 5-82 and commercial fees shall be based on actual bid amount. Heating and ventilating permit fees for residential and commercial installation shall be the same as in Section 5-82 and shall be based on actual bid amount. Section 4. Section 5-85 of the Code of Laws of the City of Wheat Ridge, Colorado, is hereby repealed and reenacted as follows: Section 5-85. Same-same-signs;wrecking. Sign permit fees shall be $15.00 per sign (single or double face). Wrecking permit fees shall be $3.00 per address. Section 5. Section 5-86 of the Code of Laws of the City of Wheat Ridge, Colorado, is hereby repealed and reenacted as follows: Section 5-86. Same-same-reinspection. Permit fees provide for customary inspections only. Where additional inspections are made necessary by incomplete or faulty work or because of incorrect address given or building locked, no fee shall be charged for the first reinspection. However, a fee of $10.00 shall be charged for each additional reinspection. This fee shall be paid by the holder of the permit to the Building Inspection Division before another inspection can be called for. Section 6. Severability. If any part or parts of this ordinance are for any reason held to be invalid, such decision shall not affect the validity of the remaining portions of this ordinance. - 4 - ORDINANCE NO. 400 The City Council hereby declares that it would have passed this ordinance and each part or parts thereof, irrespective of the fact that any one part or parts be declared invalid. Section 7. Safety Clause. The City Council hereby finds, determines, and declares that this ordinance is promulgated under the police power of the City of Wheat Ridge; that it is promulgated for the health, safety, and welfare of the public, and that this ordinance is necessary for the preservation of health and safety for the pro- tection of public convenience and welfare. The City Council further determines that the ordinance bears a rational relation to these objectives. Section 7. This ordinance shall take effect 14 days after final publication.
