TITLE:
AN ORDINANCE REPEALING AND REENACTING SECTIONS 6-l AND
6-2 OF THE CODE OF LAWS OF THE CITY OF WHEAT RIDGE,
ADOPTING THEREBY THE NATIONAL ELECTRICAL CODE, 1990
EDITION, BY REFERENCE AND ADOPTING CERTAIN AMENDMENTS
THERETO.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF WHEAT RIDGE,
COLORADO:
Section 1. Sections 6-1 and 6-2 of the Code of
Laws of the City of Wheat Ridge are hereby repealed
and reenacted as follows:
"Section 6-1. National Electrical Code--Adoption.
The National Electrical Code, 1990 Edition, copyright
by the National Fire Protection Association, is hereby
adopted by reference thereto and incorporated into
this chapter as though fully set out herein as the
electrical code of the City. Except as otherwise
provided in this chapter, such code is adopted in
full, inCluding the index and appendix contained
therein. Three (3) copies of said National Electrical
Code Shall be filed in the office of the City Clerk
and may be inspected during regular business hours.
Section 6-2. Same--Amendments.
The National Electrical Code, 1990 Edition, adopted by
section 6-1 is hereby amended as follows (section
numbers refer to section numbers of the National
Electrical Code): 310-2. Section 3l0-2(b) is amended
by adding a new sentence which reads:
"Aluminum conductors under size
allowed."

336-4. Section 336-4, "Uses Not Permitted." shall be
amended by the addition of the following paragraph c:
Section 336-4(c) "These types shall not be used
in any group A, B, E, H or I occupancy (as
defined in the Uniform Building Code, 1988
Edition, Chapter 5, Table SA.)
Section 2. Safety Clause. The City Council hereby
finds, determines and declares that this ordinance is promulgated
under the police power of the City of Wheat Ridge; that it is
promulgated for the health, safety and welfare of the public, and
that this ordinance is necessary for the preservation of health
and safety for the protection of public convenience and welfare.
The City Council further determines that the ordinance bears a
rational relation to these objectives.
Section 3. Violation and Penal ties. Any person,
firm, association or other entity doing any act or omission in
violation of this Code shall be subject to prosecution, and
subsequent penalty, if any, as provided in Section 5-5 of the
Code of Laws of the City of Wheat Ridge.
Section 4. Severability. If any clause, sentence,
paragraph, or part of this ordinance or the application thereof
to any person or circumstances shall for any reason be adjudged
by a court of competent jurisdiction invalid, such judgment shall
not affect, impair or invalidate the remainder of this ordinance
or its application to other persons or circumstances.
Section 5. This ordinance shall take effect 15 days
after final publication.

vote of 8 to 0 this 14th day of May
1990; ordered published in full in a newspaper of general
circulation in the City of Wheat Ridge and Public Hearing and
consideration on final passage set for Monday, June 11 ,
1990, at 7:30 o'clock P.M., at Council Chambers, 7500 West 29th
Avenue, Wheat Ridge, Colorado.
