HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrdinance-1995-1009 INTRODUCED BY COUNCIL KEMBER BEHK council Bill No. 26 ORDINANCE NO. 1009 TITLE: AN ORDl:NANCE ESTABLl:SHING THE SALARY FOR THE ELECTED POSITIONS OF MAYOR, KEMBERS OF COUNCIL, CITY CLERK, AND CITY TREASURER, OF THE CITY OF WHEAT RIDGE, DURING THE TERM OF OFFICE COMMENCING NOVEMBER 13, 1995; REPEALING ORDl:NANCE 942, SERl:ES OF 1993, AND REMAl:Nl:NG l:N FULL FORCE AND EFFECT UNTl:L AMENDED PURSUANT TO SECTION 3.12 OF THE HOKE RULE CHARTER OF THE CITY OF WHEAT RIDGE. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF WHEAT RIDGE, COLORADO, THAT: Section 1. Ordinance 942, Series of 1993, previously enacted by the City council of the city of Wheat Ridge, Colorado, is hereby repealed. section 2. During the term of elected office commencing November 13, 1995, the following specified elected officials within the City of Wheat Ridge shall receive the annual salaries specified herein, payable in the monthly installments provided herein: A. The Mayor of the city salary of $9,609.60, $800.80. of Wheat Ridge shall receive an annual payable in monthly installments of B. Each member of City Council shall receive an annual salary of $4,118.40, payable in monthly installments of $343.20. C. The City Clerk of the City of Wheat Ridge shall receive an annual salary of $27,720, payable in monthly installments of $2,310. D. The City Treasurer of the City of Wheat Ridge shall receive an annual salary of $27,720, payable in monthly installments of $2,310. Section 3. This ordinance shall be effective November 13, 1995, and shall remain in full force and effect until amended pursuant to Section 3.12 of the Home Rule Charter of the City of Wheat Ridge. Section 4. Safety Clause. The City Council hereby finds, determines, and declares that this ordinance is promulgated under the general police power of the city of Wheat Ridge, that it is promulgated for the health, safety, and welfare of the public and that this ordinance is necessary for the preservation of health and safety and for the protection of public convenience and welfare. The City Council further determines that the ordinance bears a rational relation to the proper legislative object sought to be attained. Ordinance No. 1009 paqe 2 section S. Severability. If any clause, sentence, paragraph or part of this ordinance or the application thereof to any person or circumstances shall for any reason be judged by a court of competent jurisdiction invalid, such judgment shall not affect, impair or invalidate the remainder of this ordinance or its application to other persons or circumstances. section 6. This ordinance shall take effect November 13, 1995.
