HomeMy WebLinkAboutResolution-1970-0093 RESOLUTION NO. 93 SeriBs of 1970 WHEREAS, the City and County of DenvBr has proposed a Four Million Dollar ($4,000,000.00) Bond Issue to allow it to condemn and purchasB thB assBts of the Denver Tramway Corporation; WHEREAS, it appears that there may be a possibility of cessation of public transportation service by the present Tramway Corporation in the near future; WHEREAS, the City and County of Denver, through its Mayor, William McNichols, has requestBd the good offices and moral support of the various suburban cities surrounding the core city; WHEREAS, thB City of WhBat Ridge, like the other citiBs in the metropolitan area, presently enjoys public transportation and would also face thB loss of this service if the Tramway Corporation would CBaSB its operation, and WHEREAS, in thB spirit of metropolitan cooperation it is proper to go on record to support the City of Denver in its efforts to improve the posture of public transportation in this area; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Wheat Ridge that this City go on record on behalf of its citizBns that it will give its good offices and moral support to the City and County of Denver in its efforts to solve thB public transpor- tation crisis now facing the residents of the Denver metropolitan arBa.
