RESOLUTION NO. 216
Series of 1973
WHEREAS, future planning for the City is both necessary
and desirable, and
WHEREAS, many possible alternatives exist for the City to
proceed in its attempts to accomplish varied goals and objectives,
and
WHEREAS, the staff members of the City Government have
reviewed the financial means of the City, the impact of Federal Revenue
Sharing on the City, the apparent needs of the City and the City's
ability to solve these problems, and
WHEREAS, after due consideration of all factors, the staff
members of the City Government have unanimously adopted the following
Resolution on January 12, 1973:
RESOLUTION OF THE STAFF
WHEREAS, it is necessary to establish
community goals and priorities, and
WHEREAS, citizen participation is deemed
to be the best means to this end;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED THAT the
Staff of the City of Wheat Ridge recommends to the
City Council that the City Council of the City of
Wheat Ridge appoint and staff a Citizens Task Force
charged with the responsibilities of determining
those goals and priorities most consistent with
those of the General Citizenry and report those to
The City Council as a guideline to future municipal
services.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED THAT in consideration of the
above information, the City Council hereby determines that it would
be in the best interest of the City to adopt the above staff recom-
mendation and therefore, the follOWing actions shall be taken by the
City as soon as practical:
1. A Wheat Ridge Citizens Task Force consisting of
21 members shall be appointed to determine
the goals and priorities of this City and to
report those back to the City Council by August 31, 1973;
2. Said Task Force shall be directed to study the
opinions and ideas of all the citizens of the

community and not simply report back to the
City Council their own individual interests'
3. Applications shall be taken by t ,e L:i ty for
appointment to the Task Force and such applicatior,s
should be made to the City no later than
by April 15, 1973;
4. The 2l appointments to be made to the Citizens
Task Force shall be made by the Mayor and each
City Council member so that each such official
shall make three appointments.
