RESOLUTION NO. 392

RESOLUTION PERTAINING TO THE PARK AND RIDE PROPOSAL SUBMITTED BY THE
REGIONAL TRANSPORTATION DISTRICT:
WHEREAS, the Regional Transportation District has proposed a
plan whereby the District would acquire parking lot sites at various
locations in the Metro Denver area, including the possible site(s)
within the City of Wheat Ridge; and
WHEREAS, the District has proposed that such sites be fully
improved at Regional Transportation District expense, subject to con-
tinuing maintenance being provided by the City; and
WHEREAS, the Regional Transportation District has indicated
that the proposed Park and Ride Plan will permit an early expansion of
intra-community bus service which will assist Wheat Ridge residents
in traveling to various points in the Metro Denver area;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the
City of Wheat Ridge is interested in cooperating with the Regional
Transportation District in the study of possible parking lot locations
in Wheat Ridge under the condition that the City be consulted and
approve the design, plans, and specifications for the development of
such site(s), and that the City determine the extent of maintenance to
be provided by the City;
AND BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City and the Regional
Transportation District discuss further and negotiate the extent of
reimbursement to the City for its maintenance costs, if any.
