RESOLUTION
406
A RESOLUTION PROVIDING FOR THE ADOPTION
OF CERTAIN STANDARDS AND SPECIFICATIONS
RELATED TO THE CONSTRUCTION OF PUBLIC
FACILITIES WITHIN THE CITY OF WHEAT RIDGE,
COLORADO.
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Wheat Ridge desires to encourage
the orderly growth and development of the City; and
WHEREAS, the construction of certain public facilities including, but not
necessarily limited to, curb, gutter, sidewalks and streets is
required for the development of a given tract of land; and
WHEREAS, the city, as a means of promoting the general health, safety and
welfare of the public, desires to have these facilities meet
certain standards and specifications; and
WHEREAS, the designer deserves to know in advance what standards and
specifications he is expected to follow.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF WHEAT RIDGE,
COLORADO, that:
1. The attached standards and specifications be adopted as a
means of providing for the proper construction of the
specified public facilities within the City of Wheat Ridge.
2. The purpose of these standards and specifications is to
provide a certain level of performance. Consequently, any
time that it can be shown that an alternate design, material
or procedure will provide performance equal to or better
than the required design, material or procedure, said
alternate may be approved by the Director of Public Works.
3. Due to rapid changes in both construction materials and
methods that are now occurring, the Director of Public
Works is hereby directed to review these standards and
specifications at least once every twelve months from
the date of adoption and report his findings to City Council
for their consideration.
4. If an existing sub-division, has a portion of the sidewalk, curb
and gutter existing, the Director of Public Works can approve
the continuation of the standards that the existing sub-division
began with to be continued until the curb, gutter and sidewalk
in that particular sub-division has been completely developed.
PASSED, ADOPTED, AND APPROVED this
by a vote of 4 to 2.
