TITLE: RESOLUTION ANNOUNCING SUPPORT OF THE CITY OF WHEAT RIDGE FOR THE
GREEN SURVIVAL PROGRAM SPONSORED BY THE AMERICAN ASSOCIATION
OF NURSERYMEN
WHEREAS, the City of Wheat Ridge has received information concerning
the Green Survival City Program sponsored by the American Association of
Nurserymen and desires to support and encourage the purposes and intent of
the Program; and
WHEREAS, the City of Wheat Ridge has already made significant contri-
bution in meeting the qualifications for designation as a Green Survival
City through its many activities concerned with the improvement of the
environment; and
WHEREAS, the City of Wheat Ridge has, through its annual Budget,
provided funds for the development of the Clear Creek Greenbelt, City Park
beautification, ordinances dealing with landscaping requirements for new
developments throughout the City, and future plans for the improvement and
beautification of Lena Gulch; and
WHEREAS, the City of Wheat Ridge has supported the Chamber of Com-
merce Trees for the Future Project in 1976 and the Landscaping Award Program
for businesses sponsored by the Chamber which has resulted in an increased
interest and concern for community beautification activities;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of
Wheat Ridge that the City government hereby announces official support for
the Green Survival City Program and all related activities and offers the
City's further efforts to assist in the development of this activity.
