TITLE: RESOLUTION GIVING SPECIAL RECOGNITION TO MARTY SMITP FOR HIS
HEROIC ACTION DURING JUNE l3, 1984 DESTRUCTIVE HAIL STORM
WHEREAS, the evening of June l3, 1984, brought a destructive
hail storm to the City of Wheat Ridge with serious devastating effects
in the W. 47th Place area; and
WHEREAS, on that evening Marty Smith was In the area of the
Powers home when the storm hit; and
WHEREAS, Marty Smith saved Craig Powers from possible
serious harm by getting the one year old Craig to safety when the
hail storm brought hail and water into the house; and
WHEREAS, special recognition should be given to Marty Smith
for his heroic and unselfish action.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the
City of Wheat Ridge that our heartfelt thanks and gratitude be
extended to Marty Smith for his heroic action in saving Craig Powers
from what could have been a disastrous situation on the evening of
June 13, 1984.
DONE AND RESOLVED this 23rd day of July, 1984.
