RESOLUTION NO. 1147
SERIES 1989
TITLE: A RESOLUTION ENCOURAGING THE INSTALLATION OF FLASHING SCHOOL
CROSSING LIGHTS.
WHEREAS, requests for flashing school crossing lights have been
made by PTA officers and citizens in the areas of West 38th Avenue and
High Court, and West 44th Avenue and Independence, and
WHERE~S, a favBrable vote by the Public Works Advisory
Committee to pass the request on to City C0uncil fGr approval was
passed, an,j
WHEREAS, students have been hit by cars in both of these school
zones, anj
WHEREAS, West 38th Avenue and West 44th Avenue are both
collector streets within the boundaries of the City of Wheat Ridge and
therefore are under local control.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL FOR THE CITY
OF WHEAT RIDGE, THAT:
1. Flashing School Crossing lights be installed on West 38th
Avenue East and West of High Court.
2. Flashing School Crossing lights be installed on West 44th
Avenue East and West of Independence Street.
3. The exact location to be as discussed in the Public Works
Aivisory Committee of April 1989.
4. The work be completed by July 31, 1989.
4. The funding for this project be brought to the City Council
meeting on May 22, 1989.
NOW, BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED THAT THE ABOVE RESOLUTION IS IN THE
INTEREST OF THE PUBLIC HE~LTH, SAFETY, AND WELFARE OF THE CITY OF WHEAT
RIDGE.
DONE AND RESOLVED THIS 24th day of APRIL, 1989.
