RESOLUTION NO. 1177
Series of 1989
TITLE: A RESOLUTION APPROPRIATING ADDITIONAL SUMS OF MONEY IN
EXCESS OF AMOUNTS BUDGETED FOR THE CITY OF WHEAT RIDGE,
COLORADO FOR FISCAL YEAR 1989.
WHEREAS, the City of Wheat Ridge Annual Budget for the fiscal
year 1989 has been adopted through Resolution No. 1118 on the
24th day of October, 1988; and
WHEREAS, Resolution No. 1119, dated October 24, 1988 established
a contingency compensation program for employees of the City of
Wheat Ridge if sales tax revenues for fiscal year 1989 vlere
greater than budgeted; and
WHEREAS, 3G of this Jate, ?rojected sales tax revenues for the
Ci ty of ''lheat Ridge are eXD8cted to exceed the $5,230,000
budgeted;
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of
Wheat Ridge, Colorado:
A. That Paraqraph 2 of Resolution No. lllq, Series of 19RB,
is revoked and amended ~v substituting the followinq:
2. The funds which constitute the 1989 Contingent
Co~pensation Pro]ram shall be ~tiliz2d )y the City
Administrator in implementing the matrix pay ?lan adopted
by the Wheat Ridge City Council in an equitable manner;
provided, however, that any payments to individual
employees resulting from this 1989 Contingent Compensation
Program shall not become part of any employee's base pay
or salary, shall not constitute a movement through the
established pay grades, and shall not be considered a
permanent salary increase.
B. That the additional sum of $125,000 be appropriated for
expenditure in the General Fund in 1989, for the purpose of a
one-time only payment to employees of the City of Wheat Ridge,
provided, however, that the total of all payments to employees
shall not exceed twenty-five percent (25%) of all sales taxes
derived and collected in excess of $5,200,000 to a maximum of
$125,000; and
c. That the 1989 total appropriation for the General Fund De
hereby increased from $9,01~~97i to $9,138,971, and the total
City of Wheat Ridge budget be increased from $15,415,731 to
$15,540,731.
