TITLE:
RESOLUTION DECLARING AUGUST 6, 1996 AS NATIONAL
NIGHT OUT.
WHEREAS; National Night Out (NNO) was started 18 years ago by
the National Association of Town Watch (NATW), and
WHEREAS; NNO is celebrated around the country as a tool in the
prevention of crime and drug abuse and the creation of neighborhood awareness; and
WHEREAS, it has been well-documated that neighborhoods which
recognize the value of neighbors and law enforcement agencies working in partnership
can reduce the incidents of crime; and
WHEREAS, NNO is sponsored by the Colorado Crime Prevention
Association and the Public Service Company'
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the
City of Wheat Ridge, that the city continues to participate in this effort by NATW by
turning on outdoor lights on AUGUST 6TH, 1996 and urge all Wheat Ridge citizens to
light up your property from 700PM to 10:00PM, get to know your neighbors and
cooperate with the Wheat Ridge Police Department in their efforts on our behalf
DONE AND RESOLVED on this 29th day of July, 1996
