A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING JEFFERSON COUNTY OPEN SPACE TO
CONTINUE GOOD FAITH NEGOTIATIONS AND TO ACQUIRE THE 8.3
ACRES OF LAND INCLUDING THE WATER RIGHTS LOCATED AT 3700
KIPLING (EINARSEN) AT THE NEGOTIATED PRICE FOR PARKS AND
RECREATION PURPOSES.
The CIty of Wheat RIdge has approved a ResolutIOn authonzll1g Jefferson County
Open Space to complete an AppraIsal, Envtronmental Assessment, Survey, and
negotIate thc faIr market value of the 8.3 acres of property located at 3700 KIplIng
(Ell1arscn Property), and
Jefferson County has completed the AppraIsal, EnvIronmental Assessment, Survey
and negotIated the faIr market value, and
The apprmsed value has been commumcated WIth the CIty CounCil, and
The negotIated [aIr market value IS $1,245,500 00 whIch ll1cludes $25,000 for the
water nghts 111 Rocky Mountall1 Ditch, and
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE WHEAT RIDGE CITY COUNCIL THAT
1) JEFFERSON COUNTY OPEN SPACE BE AUTHORIZED TO CONTINUE GOOD
FAITH NEGOTIATIONS AND TO ACQUIRE THE 8.3 ACRES OF LAND
INCLUDING WATER RIGHTS (EINARSEN) AT THE NEGOTIATED FAIR
MARKET VALUE.
2) THE EINARSEN PROPERTY IS A HIGH PRIORITY ACQUISITION FOR PARK
LAND AND THE FUTURE USES WILL BE A NEIGHBORHOOD/COMMUNITY
PARK. THE POTENTIAL USES INCLUDE TURF PLAY AREAS, TRAILS,
LANDSCAPE PLANTINGS, AND ATHLETIC FIELDS. THE FINAL USES WILL
BE DETERMINED THROUGH A PUBLIC PROCESS.
3) THE COST OF THE ACQUISITION WILL BE SPLIT 75% FROM THE CITY OF
WHEAT RIDGE SHARE OF THE JEFFERSON COUNTY OPEN SPACE BOND
FUND AND 25% FROM CITY OF WHEAT RIDGE FUNDS.
4) THE MAYOR AND CITY CLERK BE AUTHORIZED TO SIGN THE
ENVIRONMENTAL INDEMNIFICATION AGREEMENT.
