TITLE: A RESOLUTION IN SUPPORT OF THE FULL BUILD-OUT OF
THE REGIONAL TRANSPORTATION DISTRICT'S FASTRACKS
SYSTEM
WHEREAS, the Regional Transportation District (RTD) developed FasTracks, a plan
to build or expand nine commuter rail and light rail corridors in the Denver metropolitan
area; and
WHEREAS, in November 2004, voters from across the RTD district gave their
overwhelming approval of the FasTracks program; and
WHEREAS, with the Denver region currently serving as home to 2.5 million
people and another 1 million expected to move to the metro area by 2030, improvements
in transportation infrastructure are critical to maintaining the excellent quality of life that
attracts so many to this area: and
WHEREAS, completing all FasTracks corridors is essential to developing a full
multi-modal Denver metropolitan transportation system.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Wheat Ridge City Council, that:
Section 1. The Mayor and Wheat Ridge City Council support the build-out of the
RTD's FasTracks system in its entirety and will continue to work with RTD and all
communities within the District to achieve completion of the system.
