Josephine Butler, S625 ~ 36th Avenue, wants ~lan to stay the way
the electorate and Council voted it
Donald A Coates, stated the City would probably be unzoned, if it is
deemed multi-use
Arthur Butler, 9625 W 36th Ave, declared that if plan is as shown on
screen, he is for it
Marvin Polzin, 35bO Johnson, uttered that multi-use has hiru baffled, it
opens the door for anything to slide through
Ivo Lange, 9590 W 35tl Ave , is afraio it will let anything come in
Maria Lange, 9590 W 35th Ave, agrees with Mr Lange
Phil Plummer, 1039b W 41st Ave, explained that low density resioential

for Planning Commission and City Council review and approval, which is
of sufficient aetail to judge the character ana quality of the proposea
development, as well as the potential impacts and tenefits to the
nei~hborhood ana the larger comruunity, seconded by Mr Merkl Nrs
horth stated she will vote against this motion ~he feels we already
have sufficient land in the Kipling Activity Center ana other places in
this City to develop conln:ercial uses, do not need a larger niulti-use
catet, ory like this, that specif ically exetijpts low dellsi ty hesidential by

the definition Also feels multi-use has not worked in the rest of the
City The multi-use I'~ talking about, that we already have, is down by
the truck stop and it has been a catch-all for everything that ever
wanted to corne in, ano the Coru~rehensive Plan allowed it The truck
stop is not industrial, but we do have it
hr ~est will vote no also, won't go into a lot ot detail, but feels
some of the citizens have spoken, will not dwell on subject I realize
down KiplinS Street you're goin~ to have Commercial in future I'm not
against that, but we've talked about opening aoors tonight, smells a rat
sorlJewhere
JvJr s Kell er has m i XE;a feel i ngs, but vot e s no, L,ecau se the pro blelfl she
has with multi-use is, it does include density residential, hiBh density
residential is not of any benefit to our City, uses tremenaous amount ot
water taps, which we Gon't have n.any left, usually requires holdin6
tanks, which does not help our drainage system, ana sewer systems,
congestion, traffic, problems with crime increasing, etc & etc When
you have a catch-all term, it is tarder to deny a project of a larger
size on high density than it would be otherwise ~:otion carried 5-3

DECISIONS, fiESOLUTIONS, AND MOTIONS
Item 4
Resolution 1004 - supportin6 improved library services for the
City of Wheat Ridge
Mrs Ibbison introduced a modified fiesolution 1004 Lillian Fleming,
6363 W 29th Avenue, read a letter from Wheat Ridge United Neighborhoods
into the record, which backed nlill levy increase, but if referendum does
not pass, does not want library closed
Dougal Graham, 3330 Chase, spoke for Area-4 Planning Committee, stated
they endorse previous statement
Mr Davis will vote No, because he thinks if in the StUdy Session last
Monday night there was any chance they would guarantee us anything,
which he hardly doubts, he would be in favor of Resolution Seems to
hi n., the y are h and 1 i n 6 t his 1 i k e s c h 0 0 1 boa r d h and 1 e sin c rea sed t a xes
for schools, they intiriJiaate, threaten, if you don't vote for this, will
cut off such and such, feels we should fight for our library, he is for
more money going into the till, but not quite the way they are handling
it Will vote against ReSOlution, but he is for the hheat fiidge library,
will pledge whatever help he can to keep it
Rod Johnson goes with Mr Davis' comments, does not like way they are
approachins it, statea so at Study Session, by approving the Resolution
we are buckling under, we need to stand tast In favor of Library, but
cannot justif~ in his mind supporting something which is against all his
general principals
hr West will vote no, because of being under threat and inti~idation
People that know him, know that does not set well with him he will
work the best he can, to keep library open, but doe~ nut support
increase in mill levy
rr FIasco will vote no, does not buckle unuer the way they are handling
this situation Asked for some int'ormation from library, but has
received nothing from them, thanked Wheat Ridge Uniteo Neighborhood

because they provided the information he asked for from the library
people The library board have told us they Qon't get input from Wheat
fiidge When we give them input, we get no answer, so under present
Resolution, I will be voting against it, but stated he supported library
and will do whatever he can to keep the Wheat Ridge library not only
open, but improved
Mrs ~orth amendea Resolution to insert after "City of ~heat Ridge" in
the third paragraph "ana WOuld urge the County to continue operating t~e
library in its present location and that the library be completely
maintained and services and facilities be vastly improved, even if
referendun, should fail", seCondeQ by tv.r West
tv.r FIasco will vote no on the amendnlent also, because asking the
library people to guarantee you something to keep the library open, they
have already told you they are not going to do that, ana I think the
on1 y way to ur i ve point home to thelL, is not to support thell; in th is
kina of hesolution
hr Davis will vote No, based on the same reasons as Mr FIasco, feels
by doing this, we are encouraging or asking our citizens to sit back
with some kind of' guarantee that the Jef'ferson County Library board
members are going to take into consideration, anyone that was sittinb at
that StUdy Session last week, there was absolutely no give, if this
referendum went down rebardless whether the citizens supported it, the
Wheat Ridge library woula close
