Proposed 20 I 4 Budget
Enclosed for your review is the 2014 Budget. The proposed budget includes the following:
• City Manager's budget message -provides the overview and outline of 2014 funding
priorities.
• Outside Agency Contribution memorandum -provides recommended funding level for
outstde agency request program.
The City has received several requests from outside agencies for inclusion in the 2014 budget.
These requests are currently not included in the proposed budget and will need to be discussed
by Council on September 161h.
The requests are as follows:
• Jefferson County School District Outdoor Lab program $24,500
This funding requests supportsfimdingfor students on free and reduced lunch to attend the
Jeffco Outdoor Lab. This amount would assist 143 students from Kullerstrand. Pennington,
Prospect Valley , Wilmore-Davis, and Wheat Ridge 5-8.
• Jeffco EDC $3,400
This funding amount is in addition to the current annual membership of$6,600.
• Jeffco Action Center $30,000
This funding is being requested for Phase One of the Capital Contribution Campaign for
construction of a new facility. This funding request could be made in the form of a
supplemental budget appropriation in 2013
• Seniors Resource Center (SRC) Circulator Bus $30,000
This request typically comes to Council mid-year. During one of the budget public input
opportunities. the Mayor asked Council to c onsider increasing this request by $12,000 for a
total of$42.000 in 2014.
The annuaJ budget retreat ts s cheduled for Monday, September 16'h at 6:30 p.m. Please let me
know prior to this session if you have any questions regarding the proposed budget.
