I I. REQUEST The applicant (owner) is requesting a class 11 flood plain exception permit. The purpose of this application is to allow an addition to the existing single-family structure (Exhibit 1, Site Plan and Exhibit 2, Elevations). nVT:TMX YJ V, flood elevation. The base flood elevation is 5,432.8 feet above sea level. The first floor of the existing structure is at 5,436.26 feet above sea level. The study goes on to state that the proposed addition should have no effects on water surface elevation or storage capacity of Lena Gulch. The first floor elevation of the proposed addition will be 5,436.76 feet above sea level, which is consistent with the City"s requirement for elevation above the base flood elevation. PUBLIC HEARING Beard of Adjustment 03/25/04 Board Member BELL asked about the visual impact of a lighted sign in the proposed location. Ms. Reckert deferred that question to the sign representative. Cheryl Wise 195 Dover Street, Lakewood Ms. Dover, the applicant, was sworn in by Chair BLAII John Hamilton 44" Raleigh Street, Denver Mr. Hamilton, the sign consultant, was sworn in by Chair BLAIR. Board of Adjustment - 2 - 03/25/04 In response to a question from Board Member HOWARD, Mr. Hamilton stated that the proposed sign would have fluorescent lighting. Board Member ABBOTT asked if any line-of-sight studies had been done. Ms. Wise replied that no studies have been done, however, drivers don't see the present sign because they are keeping their eyes • the curve of Marshall. Board Member MOLNAR asked the applicant if she had contacted the utility company about placing a street light to provide more illumination.
