I, the property owner, by my signature, attest that I currently reside at the project
property, intend to reside at the property for a period of one year after completion of the
project, and am personally performing all work, without the assistance of hired or
professional workers. Consultations and inspections will only be performed with the
homeowner of record present.Midroof & Final Roof inspections for ROOFS 6/12 PITCH & OVER:
3rd party inspection will be required for both the midroof and final inspections. The 3rd
party inspection report AND THE ORIGINAL PERMIT CARD needs to be dropped off to the Permit
Desk at the City of Wheat Ridge. The report MUST BE SIGNED by the Homeowner.
REGARDING ROOF VENTILATION: Roof ventilation shall comply with IBC Sec. 1203.2 or IRC Sec.
R806. The installation of ridge venting requires the installation or existence of soffit
venting. For calculation purposes, one hat or turtle vent equal to one-half of one square
foot of opening.
Effective December 1, 2014, asphalt shingle installations require an approved midroof
inspection, conducted when 25-75 percent of the roof covering is installed, prior to finai
approval. Installation of roof sheathing (new or overlay) is required on the entire roof
when spaced or board sheathing with ANY gap exceeding one half inch exists. Sheathing and
mid -roofs may be called in at the same time, one hundred percent of the sheathing must be
complete and 25-75 percent of the mid -roof may be complete. Asphalt shingles are required
to be fastened to the roof deck with a minimum of 6 nails per shingle. Ice and water shield
is required. Eave and rake metal is required. A ladder extending 3 feet above the roof eave
and secured in place is required to be provided for all roof inspections. Roof ventilation
is required to comply with applicable codes and/or manufacturer installation instructions,
whichever is more stringent. In order to pass a final inspection of elastomeric or similar
type roof coverings, a letter of inspection and approval from the manufacturer technical
representative stating that "the application of the roof at (project address) has been
applied in accordance with the installation instruction for (roof material brand name) roof
covering" is required to be on site at the time of final inspection.
Midroof & Final Roof inspections for ROOFS 6/12 PITCH & OVER: 3rd party inspection will be
required, the 3rd party inspection report AND THE ORIGINAL PERMIT CARD needs to be dropped

I. This permit ssued based on the information provided in the permit application and accompanying plans and specifications and is

2. This permit shall expire 365 days after the date of issuance regardless of activity. Requests for extension must be made in writing and
received prior to the date of expiration. An extension of no more than 180 days made be granted at the discretion of the Chief Building
Official and may be subject to a fee equal to one-half of the originalppermit fee.
3. If this permit expires, a new permit may be required to be obtained. Issuance of a new permit shall be subject to the standard
requirements, fees androcedures for approval of any new permit. Re -issuance or extension of expired permits is at the sole discretion of
the Chief Building Official and is not guaranteed.
4. No work of an manner shall be performed that shall results in a changeof the natural flow of water without prior and specific approval.
5, The permit holder shall notify the Building and Inspection Services Division in accordance with established policy of all required
inspections and shall not proceed or conceal work without written approval of such work from the Building and Inspection Services
Division.

I. The knee wall is taller than 14" so the inside walls will not have to be sheathed.
2. The mechanical locations and specification is located on "Supplementary Drawing
sheet #2".
3. The plumbing specification is located on "Supplementary Drawing sheet #2".
4. The water supply size is 1" as shown on "Supplementary Drawing sheet #2".
5. Electrical upgrade has been added to sheet # 10.
6. Window header sizes have been added to sheet #1.
7. Hurricane ties and blocking are shown on sheet #2.
8. Text indicating that smoke detectors will be added to the entire structure are shown on
Sheet #10
9. The roof bearing loads are shown on "Supplementary Drawing sheet #1". Most of the floor
joist bears from outside wall to the ceuter load bearing walls. The master bedroom floor
joists bear directly on the outside wall and on the inside garage load bearing wall with the
help of perlin bracing. The remaining floor joist bear on the South wall and the inside
existing wall through the knee wall. This load is transferred down through the existing wall
and to the inside and outside foundation wall through two existing 2 X 10 trimmers located
in the crawl space.
10. Bath ventilation is shown as a circled "F" on plan #10.

Dear Mr. and Mrs. Quintana:
Please be advised 1 visited the property on Tuesday, May I, 2001, to review the
condition of the existing foundation system and to determine its capacity to accept a
second floor addition to the existing structure. 1 find the foundation system consists
of a continuous concrete footer of reinforced concrete, supporting a nine inch
reinforced concrete stem wall. The exterior wall system consists of four inch brick
veneer and four inch concrete block. The crawl space area is dry and well vented, and
includes, in the center, a continuous ribbon footer, supporting a system of 2x6's on
sixteen inch centers. The center bearing would accept the loading of the second floor
framing.
After reviewing the exterior of the property and the interior of the crawl space, I find
this structural system will accept a second floor addition.
The City of Wheat Ridge will require a few basic drawings covering the addition,
which should include a floor plan, access to the second floor, a roof plan and a typical
cross section. If you need any help in making these sketches, please let me know.
The sketches will need to include material sizes, which you mayor may not be able to
calculate and more than likely at least two stamped sets of drawings by a professional
engineer needs to be submitted to the City, Building Department, so if I can help you
in any way there I will be more than happy to work with you.
