All cast -in-place concrete shall be made with type I Portland Cement (maximum of 15% Fly Ash replacement for Cement) and W stone aggregate and shall develop a minimum ultimate strength of 3000 p.s.i. for foundations and slab -on -grades. The foundation for the proposed Addition has been designed for the end bearing of 1500 p.s.f based upon this engineer's experience with soils in this area. Bottom of foundations trenched must be compacted to 95% standard Proctor Density @ +/- 2% of optimum moisture content (proper moisture if when formed in hand to a ball and it doesn't crumble and too much if it squeezes between fingers and enough compaction if weight on round point shovel penetrates less than 3" into ground). Foundation shall be inspected by engineer of record at time footing are formed. Grade must be sloped away from the foundation by 1" per foot for first 6' away from foundation. B. Backfill of the grade walls shall be in 8" lifts simultaneously with fill placed on both sides and compacted as referenced above. Back fill of basement walls to be undertaken only after both top and bottom of walls are braced with compaction as referenced above. C. Provide 2" x 2' deep foundation perimeter insulation on the outside of the basement walls from floor slab up to finish grade. D. Slab -on -grade subgrade shall be compacted to 90% standard proctor density @ +/- 2% of optimum moisture content with the moisture maintain in the subgrade until the slab is poured (subgrade to be wetted daily to prevent drying out). E. Developer assumes responsibility for the possibility of swelling soil. 4. Wood: A. All framing lumber shall be Doug Fir #2 or better. B. The purpose of this report is to document this remediation project was successfully completed, and indoor asbestos amplification was not occurring in the work area. An Industrial Hygienist for Earth Energy Environment (E3) performed the remediation project completion inspection and testing procedures. The remediation work area (Interior Area) was visually inspected in order to confirm the scope of work was properly followed and completed. The containments were also visually inspected to verify breaches and/or defects were not present. Phase Contrast Microscopy (PCM) samples were collected in accordance with the National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH) method 7400 using cassettes (standard 3 piece, 25 mm dia., 0.8 um MCE filter) purchased from Zefon International, Inc. The asbestos concentrations in the containment were calculated as airborne fibers per cubic centimeter of air (F/cc). Table 1 provides a summary of the sample numbers, sample volumes, and calculated concentrations. The National Emission Standards for Hazardous Air Pollutants (NESHAP) clearance standard is 0.01 F/cc. Visual inspection confirmed that no asbestos -containing debris was observed in the work areas. The PCM clearance air sample results were all below the NES1 AP clearance standard of 0.01 F/cc. Based on the information presented above, E3 concludes the asbestos abatement in the work area has been successfully completed, and the work area may be reoccupied after build back.
