Conclusions and recommendations presented herein are based on observation of exposed and accessible components of the structure, verbal information provided during our site visit, and applicable codes. A portion of an existing bearing wall supporting roof framing will be removed. Existing roof framing shall be supported by (3) 9-1/2" x 1- 3/4" LVL's or a WSx10 wide flanged steel beam. The beam shall be supported by the existing brick/CMU wall on the west end and an existing three inch diameter steel post on the east end. The existing steel column may require modification to facilitate the narrower beam section. The column may be replaced with (3)2x4 trim studs and (2) king studs.
